    Feb 27th

-Read Around the Planet Camp Cronce will be participating in thisexciting program that links schools around the globe to share literacy. We arescheduled to Skype with a first grade classroom from North Carolina andread/share our favorite books with them. Table Talk for sure!!

TABLE TALK: Ask your camper,What was your favorite part of Chinese New Year?Have you seen the video Mrs. Cronce made of it on the protopage? Who were themain characters in the play you saw? What was the setting? (where the storyhappened) What was the conflict/solution? Who is Ruby Bridges and what did shedo to end segregation? What does segregation mean? (That last one is a trickyword, but your camper will know it! ) What is a caption? Bold word?

As youll recall, a baggie of Ooblek came home when we studied Matter and thedifferences between liquids, solids, and gases. I took pictures of each of the stages ofthis science experiment and am looking for a parent to creatively put them onto a trifoldboard I have here in class so we can display what we learned. Going through thescientific process was very fun and Im proud to say we will be using it again and againthroughout the year- especially with the other two science experiments we will also bedisplaying on trifold boards! (Watch for our boards on magnetism and the lifecycle!)

Im VERY proud of the creativity I saw as I looked at each 100-piece collection that camein this week! A lot of thought certainly went into them! Way to go, campers and

parents! Also, Im excited as I look forward to the timelines that will be coming in nextweek. Our Social Studies requirement of distinguishing between the past, present, andfuture can be hard for first graders, so making a timeline is the perfect way to cementthat, as well as share about themselves!

Looking forward to the week ahead,

    Mrs. Cronce www.protopage.com/mrscronce

P.S. Thanks for all of the flowers, cards, and yummies Happy Valentines Day
