    Dear Middle School Parents,

    It will be a busy week next week in the Middle School. On Monday andTuesday

    October 20 and 21we will have our Parent Teacher Conferences from1:00 -6:00

    p.m. There will be a shortened schedule in the morning with an early student

    release at12:00 p.m. There will be no aer school acvies, please make the

    necessary arrangements for your child to be picked up on me.

    The PTC online reservaon system for making appointments will close onSunday

    October 19 at 3:00 p.m. Please make sure to bring a copy of your reserved ap-

    pointments on the day of the conferences. If you have any quesons in advance

    or have had any diculty with the online system, please contact the Middle

    School Oce.

    OnFriday October 24we will be celebrang Filipiniana our annual event at ISM to

    celebrate the beauful country we all call home. The theme this year is Fesvals

    of the Philippines -masks and amazing colors always featured at fesvals in the

    Philippines which take place throughout the year. In the morning there will be a

    shortened schedule followed by advisory. At11:55 there will be a parade fol-

    lowed by our Middle School Filipiniana assembly from12:15

    -1:15

    -there will be

    performances by Middle and High School students. We will then take part in the

    Barrio Fiesta in the Middle School courtyard. Students can purchase food ckets

    and enjoy local food or they can also eat lunch in the canteen. For the last hour,

    Middle School students will divide into their houses and take part in some acvi-

    es to learn more about the Philippines!

    For Filipiniana, students can wear tradional Filipino clothing or they can also pur-

    chase a t-shirt from the Philippine Cultural Club next week during lunch me for

    500 pesos. Students can also choose to wear their house t-shirt on this day, or

    their regular school uniform.

    We hope everyone has a great week before the break, having conversaons withteachers about student learning, and then ending the week with a celebraon of

    the Philippines. School break will take place fromOctober 27with classes resum-

    ing onMonday November 3

    Beginning on September 13, dierent service opportunies will be

    oered on Saturdays. Some events involve a trip to visit a service partner

    while others involve hosng a local educaon program. Along with the

    joy of giving, students benet by interacng with children from dierent

    backgrounds and geng to know the Philippines beyond Maka and

    Taguig. To parcipate, students simply pick up a permission slip from the

    MS Oce on the Monday before the trip. Once its been signed and re-

    turned to the oce, a student can sign up on the roster. Some trips ll up

    quickly so encourage them to sign up early. Parent are welcome toaend!

    IASAS Volleyball/XC : ISM is hosng the IASAS Volleyball/Cross Country Championships this

    weekOct 15-19. Thank you very much to all our host families for your support in housing the vis-

    ing athletes!I hope that you can make it to the school someme

    on Saturday

    morning for the

    XC team me trial races and to see some of the volleyball acon. Schedules for both events are

    included in this bullen.

    The match schedule for volleyball tournament can be found under helpful shortcuts on ATAC

    home page, as is the overall schedule for the XC event program. The soccer schedule from ISKL is

    also available. ISM will be live streaming volleyball matches, go towww.iasas.asiato nd the links

    for our live stream

    2nd season tryouts and season pracce schedules are now posted to the ATAC blog and on no-

    ce boards around school! 2nd season sports for MS/HS are; Basketball, Rugby, Touch, Tennis

    and Swimming.

    Check the ATAC game schedule page for the most updated matches mid week and on weekends!

    Parents and students please take some me to peruse the ATAC blog. It has a wide variety of in-

    formaon and links to our sports and acvies program. If you have any quesons regarding the

    compeve program of sports at ISM aer reading the informaon on the blog, please send an

    The ES/MS Rifa compeve soccer season has come to a close for this year with the nal fesval

    and nals last Saturday for qualifying teams. The ES soccer awards will be held

    October 21

    at theLile Theatre from2:153:00 P.M.

    Bearcat Den: Drop by our fantasc spirit store. There is a range of new products and items to

    purchase including items from our service partners.Bearcat Den hours of operaon-:7:00 A.M. -

    4:00 P.M.,MondayFriday.

    The ATAC game schedule pdf which is updated regularly by Triz Gonzalez (ATAC Athlecs Coordi-

    nator) gives the most up to date informaon on where/when and who our Bearcat teams will be

    playing throughout the school year. Access to the game schedule is via the ISM parent portal.

    Use thislink to access the parent portal, log in with your user name/password and look for the

    ATAC Game Schedule tab. Remember to refresh the page when the pdf schedule appears so youview the most current schedule.
