LOOKING FOR A WAY TO INCLUDE GOD IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP. Find some new ideas on a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend. The Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend is 44 hours where married couples can get away from jobs, kids, chores and phones…and focus only on
each other (the way it all began). This weekend can help you find greater depth, growth and enrichment in your relationship. The next weekend in the diocese is scheduled in Cullman, June 19-21 at St. Bernard’s Abbey. You can register online today at website www.ALFL-wwme.org or by calling Bob & Joy Hernan-dez at 678-985-0125.
God’s Capacity for Forgiveness Where is the foolish person who would think it in his or her power to commit more than God could forgive? ~St. Francis de Sales
The essence of discipleship is that we carry his cross. Disciples go wherever the Master goes. Coming to understand who Jesus is, his mission, and how that
relates to us his disciples is not an easy task; it takes a lifetime. Like Jesus, to be faithful followers by taking up
our cross means we will feel this in the depths of our humanity: we will suffer, we will lose heart, we will cry out to God to take life’s mis-erable lot away from us. But also like Jesus we have divine life which gives us the strength to carry our cross. It is divine life pulsating within us – which we first receive at our baptism – that raises up our humanity enabling us to be faithful disciples carrying our crosses. (Living Liturgy, p.98)

There have been more than 54 million abortions performed in the United States since Roe v. Wade was decided back in 1973. To help stop the anti-life push around the world, we ask you to spiritually adopt a baby in danger of abortion and say a daily prayer for a period of nine months. Your prayers CAN make a difference between whether a baby will be born ... or aborted. Our prayers can also be a form of spiritual support for both parents. St. William began its 15th season of spiritual adoptions the weekend of March 2nd. Please share the love of life given to you by the Lord of all life and spiritually adopt a baby. We will have cards and pencils in the pews. Please complete the smaller right side with the your name and the name of your spiritually adopted child. Write the name of your spiritually adopted child on the card on the left side that contains the prayer. Separate the two sides and drop the side with your name and the child’s name into one of the baskets held by Pro-Life Committee members who will be in the vesti-bule.
Remember to turn in filled baby bottles to the Pro-Life Basket in the Vestibule.
The introit (opening chant) for the old Mass of Passion Sun-day hints at a reason for re-form: “Do me justice, O God, and fight my fight against a faithless people” (Psalm 42). This liturgy was laden with references to the “infidelity” of
the Jews, a theme that gave rise to inflamma-
tory preaching and, in some places, at-tacks against the persons and property of the Jewish people.
This does not stand as a “treasure” of any sort in our tradition. Our authentic tradi-tion, rather, is the ability to reflect and repent and to seek reconciliation with the Jews, our brothers and sisters in the love and service of God. —Rev. James Field, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITIONS
Camp St. Bernard on the campus of St. Bernard Prep School in Cullman, offers a wide range of traditional camp activities and programs for boys and girls ages 6-14.
Camp Saint Bernard’s goal is to provide a recreational setting in which campers can gain a deeper understand-ing of their relationships to their natural environment and their fellow man.
Day and boarding camps are available. Some of the activities available are archery, ceramics, fishing, arts & crafts, rappelling, basketball, kayaking, rock climbing and swimming.
Is today “Palm Sunday” or “Passion Sunday”? Though now known officially as Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord, confusion is understand-able, since before the 1969 reform of the calendar two separate Sundays bore these titles. Passion Sunday was a week before Palm Sunday. To add to the confusion, the Gospel accounts of the Passion of the Lord were not read on Passion Sunday, but on Palm Sunday! On Pas-sion Sunday, the cross and statues were veiled in full pur-ple drapes. The organ had fallen silent at the beginning of Lent, and now the sanctu-ary bells were replaced by wooden clappers.
Please consider helping to prepare the church for the Easter Season. Easter decoration will start at 9:00 am on April 4th in the church.
Scholarships are available. Please contact the church office for more information.
S t. William Note cards: Beginning the weekend of April 11th and
12th, the Sodality will have blank note cards for sale in the religious articles cabinets featuring the beautiful stained glass window behind the tabernacle. The cards will sell for $10/package of 10. The cards are also available for the same price at Fine Things in Arab.

Salmo — Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has abandonado? (Salmo 22 (21)).
