International
Why should NIFA be globally engaged?
To efficiently solve problems here we may
need information and cooperation from
beyond our borders.
But in an increasingly interconnected world –
Solutions we develop for problems in the
U.S. could benefit other parts of the world.
Objective 3.1 –
Ensure U.S.
agricultural resources
contribute to global
food security
Objective 1.2 –
Increase agricultural
opportunities by
ensuring a robust
safety net, creating new
markets, and
supporting a
competitive agricultural
system
Objective 4.4 – Protect agricultural health by minimizing
major diseases and pests to ensure access to safe,
plentiful, and nutritious food
Objective 3.2 – Enhance America’s ability to
develop and trade agricultural products derived
from new and emerging technologies
• What is your vision for CIP over the next few years?
• What are your plans for engaging CIP with higher
education, particularly land grant universities?
• How can CIP and APLU’s International Ag. Section
group increase synergies and opportunities to work
together?
