Improve farmers’ lives: Bollgard increased Indian growers’ yields by >50% and farmer incomes by >INR 10000/acre.

SHARE Beneficiary Krushna Janrao Harne from Amravati says “We are a family of five with only four acres. Cheap seeds gave me poor yields. But thanks to SHARE experts, quality seeds like BGII, micro-nutrients, and education on agronomic practices are fetching me higher yields. I now educate other farmers on how to lower their cost of cultivation and increase their earnings”.

Initiative to help tribal farmers in Orissa gain financial independence Monsanto facilitated linkages between local lenders and National

Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) Resulted in transparent, reliable credit & distribution system NABARD-supported banks gave low-cost credit to buy inputs/seeds Monsanto grew 100 demo plots & gave training on farming practices Yields increased by 1.8 to 2 metric tons per hectare, doubling income
