High School) beginning at 1:00 p.m. Their minister, Todd Gould,

will be the speaker. If you can take time to attend, please do so. It

Every Day is Easter Every Day is Easter Every Day is Easter Every Day is Easter

“Easter comes but once a year,” so many people say, But, to a person saved from sin, it’s Easter every day!

A man, when saved or “born again” his life, to Christ, will give.

And, as a new-born babe in Christ, he’s just begun to live.

“I am the resurrection, life”, the Savior, one day, said: “And he, believing in my Word, shall live, though he be dead.”

And that well known Apostle, Paul, in Philippi made plain;

“For me to live is Jesus Christ, for me to die is gain.”

So when the Blood of Christ, our Lord, redeems a soul from sin; Every day is Easter, for Jesus lives within!

GRADUATES

AT NOVESTA Below is the current list of graduates that we

have for 2010. If you know of someone within

the church that is graduating that we’ve missed,

please let the church office know ASAP.

Zach Fisher, Zach Hartwick, Lyle Hutchinson,

Kirsten Janos, Jordan Kus, Paige Lester,

Dillon Peruski, Eddie Vogel

We will be hosting a graduate breakfast on

May 16th as well as presenting the graduates

with a special gift from the congregation.

Mission Project by our

High School Girls

Novesta’s High School girls are putting a dresser in the hallway for us to fill the drawers with baby clothes, blankets, shampoos, lotions, etc. The items donated will be given to Positive Alternatives to help new moms in providing for their babies. So when you’re shopping, stop and buy some baby items and let’s help the girls fill the dresser. Wouldn’t it be great if they had to empty it so it could be filled again and again?

Short Term Mission Trip

Summer 2011

There will be a meeting on April 11 for anyone

that is interested in going on a short term

mission trip next summer. We would like to

discuss where the group thinks God wants us

to go and when. Please attend if you are in-

terested in going. We will meet in the Jr.

Church area after the 2nd service.

Remember,

Guardian Angels, to be faithful in your prayers

Community Prayer Topic:

Our prayers should be for our service men and women in the midst of deployments and separa-tion from family and loved ones. We should pray for them to stand in faith and trust in God’s infal-lible Word. Pray for them to read Psalm 91. It will not only encourage the soldiers, but it also begin a Spirit inspired relationship with God.

A special note from me you: Keep our Church family in unity and keep with

God’s plan for Novesta.

Hi! Do you suppose Spring is

here to stay? I hope so. It’s so

nice to be outdoors enjoying

God’s handiwork and all the

Spring flowers coming up. I may plant a little

garden in case you all don’t leave me enough

crumbs.

It’s been fun being a mouse seeing all the

work and activity going on here lately. Doesn’t

the new changes of the foyer and auditorium

look nice? We’ll have room for everyone coming

and going and room to greet each other. I saw a

bunch of painters here to help. Thanks to every-

one who helped—it looks great! Have you vis-

ited the new library location?

planned by GLCC at the Doty Center. It all

begins with a light buffet and fellowship at

6:30 p.m. and progresses to an incredible pro-

gram at 8:00 p.m.

The theme is “The Gift of Love” and the

featured speaker is Love Lockman, from

Indiana. She has a tremendous passion for

activating and equipping today’s Church to

become the hands and feet of Jesus. She will

concentrate on Mark 14:3-9 for us.

REMINDER

Just a reminder to encourage

your children to attend summer

for them. If they go to Wolver-

the registration. Summer camp schedules are

available so that you can plan your summer

vacations accordingly.

PUZZLER:

Rearrange the following letters to make 1 long word

d o o r n o i n w e g

We want to thank all those who gave so gener-

ously of their time and “muscles” to help with

the remodeling. It looks GREAT!!! It would

be hard to mention everyone’s name (I’d be

sure to miss some). Some nights there were

25+ people here to help. Walls were gutted, painting needed done,

woodwork was refinished, pews had to be car-

ried out in order to put the carpet down and

then they had to be carried back in, the li-

brary received shelving, there was lots of car-

rying stuffing from one place to another and

then back again, etc. The carpet looks great. The majority of the

cost of the carpeting came from Mardell

Ware’s memorial (Thank you, Ware family).

My TributeMy TributeMy TributeMy Tribute She was born in the early 1900’s and lived six months short of 100 years. Her life was full of hard-ships and good times as well. If you were to ask her if she had a good life, she would answer with a posi-tive yes. She was my teacher for life. My Mother first loved her Lord with all her heart. She and my Father had a marriage that was lasting and was the example for their children and anyone that knew them. They never ran away from their struggles but together worked through them. Mother was the last child born into a family of a third marriage. She enjoyed telling people she had 12 brothers and sisters but she was an only child. She was raised with nieces and nephews because they were closer in age. She outlived all of her siblings and most of the next generation. She was the one that many came to for family history, guidance and counseling. I am the 4th of 5 children born to our parents and things that I remember might be a little different from what my brothers recall. When we grew up there was not a lot of money or possessions but we were always clothed and fed. I recall my brother saying, “I didn’t know we were poor if Mom hadn’t told me.” Our home was a place where relatives felt wel-come and sometimes came unexpected. It was tradi-tion to always have a meal because going to a restau-rant wasn’t even heard of. Mother would quietly tell me to put on a tablecloth and lots of dishes. I guess more dishes looked like more food. She would use two where one would have done nicely. When dinner was ready, Mother would ask the Lord to bless the meal. He heard her prayer and answered because no one ever went away hungry. I think she followed the example in the Bible where Jesus took the loaves and fishes and asked His Father to feed the 5000. We never had a crowd that large but it shows us that when you give it to the Lord, anything is possible. Mother was a country school teacher, farm worker, bookkeeper, Sunday School teacher, and most importantly … my Mother. She taught me to love, laugh, forgive, and to read God’s Word. In her last days when her hearing, eyesight and physical health was failing her, she still was the “teacher.” Through this she taught me humility and how to handle life when you can’t do much anymore, and most of all, it is alright to cry.

WOODBURN CHRISTIAN CHILDREN’S HOME

Lee Bracey is coming to share his work on April 11. Lee has served many years as the director the Woodburn Christian Children's Home. Novesta is Vivian's (Lee's wife) home church. It will be good to hear about their ministry. Following is what Woodburn's website (www.wcchonline.org) says about their ministry. The Woodburn Christian Children's Home, a ministry of Christian Churches and

Churches of Christ, is broadly supported by the community throughout the tri-state area. Since 1972, this special home has provided a Christian family environment for children who are homeless or who have other special needs. WCCH is supported entirely by voluntary contribution. We receive no federal, state or county support. We are entirely dependent upon our private contributors who enable us to operate on a cash basis. WCCH operates very efficiently. Our cost of caring for a child is about half the average cost of similar child-care throughout the tri-state area. Children are evaluated on a needs basis and family participation is on a sliding scale. Over the years, WCCH has provided a home for many children who had little or no ability to pay.

Most of the group plays Euchre but we also have other games for those who don’t play. This is an evening of fun and fellowship for the whole family. Mark this on your calendar so you don’t forget and remind your friends about it so we have a good turnout. If you have any questions about Game Night, call the church office (872-3658).

(Note: we will take donations any time!!) We thank you in advance for your generosity.
