Sermon Series - minor prophets… Major PROFIT At the end of the Old Testament, just before we get to meet Jesus, God re-veals a major portion of his heart and desire for his people through a number of men often referred to as the minor prophets. And while these men have a diminutive description, the messages that God delivers through them can have huge impact in our lives! Join us each week as we look at one of these short books and see how it can make a long lasting difference in your life. August 28th - Haggai - First Things First September 11th - Malachi - The Last Word September 4th - Habakkuk - Some Kind of God September 18th - Hosea - Come Back Home

“Become” Starting September 25th we will be finishing up the Believe Study with the final section ‘Become’. Each week we will be talking about our lives in Christ and about what He is inviting us to Become. We’ll mostly be talking about the fruit of the Spirit and what that looks like in our lives as we live day to day. May we as a church continue to become more and more like the God that we serve and the Savior that we trust in!

Church Wide Tailgate Party - September 18th As summer fades into fall we invite you to jump back in to church. If you’ve been gone a bit this summer, there are LOTS of new faces that you need to meet and get to know. We’re hoping to have everyone join us on the 18th for church and to then have everyone stick around after church for a potluck and ‘tailgate’ party. We will provide the meats, chips, and drinks, and we invite you to bring a dish to pass or a dessert to enjoy as well. We’ll have some cornhole, boche ball, spikeball, and other tailgate games to enjoy after the food also. This is a great Sunday to stick around

and get to know your church family and to also bring a new friend along as well.

Welcome New Member… On Sunday, August 14, John Stone was bap-tized during the morning worship service. John has been attending with Linda Richardson and they recently became engaged. On Wednesday, August 24, Amelia & Eliza-beth Swoish were baptized. They are the daugh-ters of Jeff & Carletta. We congratulate these that have accepted Christ as their Savior and pray for others that need to make similar decisions.

Financial Peace University Starting September 18th

@ 6PM - 7:30PM

Three years ago we launched ‘Imagine Freedom’ as a time for our church to embrace God’s plan for handling money. Over these past 3 years many of us have been working to make a change in the way we spend, save, and

give. We’re going to be hosting this 9 week class again as a refresher course for many (if we’re hon-est, most of us could use a refresher) and as a new start for others. If you’ve never been a part of this 9 week class, NOW is the time. We know that this class isn’t easy, but we also know it might be the most important 18 hours of your life. There will be Sunday night youth for all students ages 6th grade - 12th grade during this time as well. There will be a sign-up in the middle hallway, and you can also sign-up through the facebook event or directly through

daveramsey.com.

Clay Day September 4th

Join us for a Sunday afternoon of eating, fellowship, and shooting clay pigeons after church. Barbequed tur- key sandwiches and Sloppy Joes will be provided. Bring a dish to pass and enjoy the afternoon. We are also hoping to have some waterslides set up for the kids and Dave & Karen have a pool & hot tub as well. The annual event is always a lot of fun and we want you to be a part of it. The event takes place at Dave & Karen Speirs’ house. They live at 4866 Akron Rd, just a 1/4 mile west of Dodge Rd.

Bible School is for you! Sunday mornings… early… class? Yup, we know it’s early and it’s a great chance to ‘catch-up’ but sometimes the best investment we could make would be to ‘catch-up’ on relationships and God. We’ve got fresh coffee each morning to help you get through and we’ve got classes for all ages and kids classes too. We really want to encourage you to ‘give it a shot’ and see the blessing that it can be! Classes start at 9:30.

L. I. F. T. (Ladies In Fellowship Together)

All women of Novesta are invited to join us as we resume our fellowship after our summer vaca-tions. We will kick it off with a Salad Supper on September 8th at 6:00 p.m. Please bring your favorite salad to share; beverage and table service will be provided. Mark your calendar to attend.

Right to Life Annual Benefit Dinner

Tuesday, Sept. 27 6:30 p.m. @ K of C Hall

The guest speaker is Le’yandria Murray, a 23 year old young woman who desires to inspire oth-ers. Born and raised in Detroit to a teenage mother, at a young age Le’yandria knew first-hand what poverty felt like. She also knew that hard work and determination could change her situation. Come have a great meal, and listen as Le’yandria shares her compelling prolife story of almost being a victim of abortion, and hopes to one day share her story all over the world.
