Hi, everyone,

Just wanted to let you know Tami and I are

doing well. Tami no longer works for the

newspaper but is now the new church secretary

at Albany Christian Church, I am so proud of

her! She and I play in the praise band every

Sunday. I am thankful for God’s blessings

and our short time at Novesta Church of

Christ. Novesta is where God put on Tami’s

heart to play bass guitar! As I’m writing this

I’m listening to the CD that was given us. It

always makes me think of everyone at Novesta.

Thanks for being part of our spiritual journey

home where we’ll get the chance to play music

again with Jesus as our conductor!!

Marty & Tami Abbott

Novesta family,

We want to thank everyone for the calls,

cards, delicious food and concerns for us as we

are going thru this ordeal. We covet your con-

tinued prayers throughout Pam’s treatments.

We appreciate and thank those who have of-

fered help with transportation, etc. Your

prayers are helping us.

Gib & Pam Kern

For the High School Class,

Lawrence & I would like to say a big Thank

You, for that great meal prepared for us. It

was a very pleasant surprise, and we enjoyed it

very much. Thank you again (Future Chefs)

and the delivery girls too. Bless you All.

Sincerely,

Lawrence & Elfriede Englehart

(fall back)

Remember to set your clock before you go to bed

on Saturday, Nov. 6th, so you won’t miss Sunday

morning service.

LUNCH BUNCHLUNCH BUNCHLUNCH BUNCHLUNCH BUNCH

Our Lunch Bunch will meet at the church at 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 4 to car pool to Caro K of C where we will have a hamburger buffet beginning at 5:30 and then the play will start at 7:00 p.m. It’s a mystery and we will try to figure out who-done-it. Tickets have been purchased for those who said they wanted to go. If you are not able to go, please let Mary Helen know so we can find someone to take your place. The cost of the ticket is $14. It’s been quite a while since we met for break-fast. Maybe that is what will do more often in the winter months so we don’t have to worry about going too far on winter roads. We’ll discuss it.

A Mystery … Who Could It Be

Who could it be? When you think you’ve fig-

ured out who the mystery person is, ask

them if you’re right.

Our last Mystery Person was

Here we grow again… We welcome Dave & Becky Peruski who were immersed Sunday evening, October 3rd. Dave and Becky live at 3288 Warner Road. On Sunday evening, October 24, Nick & Judy Romzek were immersed into Christ. They live in the Argyle area. Pray for these new Christians as they walk with Christ. Seek them out, get acquainted, and welcome them into our church family. Please pray for others that need to make similar decisions and remember to invite friends, neighbors, and family to our services. We also have many op-portunities for Bible study and fellowship.

EVANGELISM MINISTRY The Evangelism Ministry is anxious to reach out and help people better understand who we are at Novesta, and why we do what we do. If you have been attending and would like to know more about what the Bible says about who the church is or the plan of Salvation per the Bible, feel free to let either of the Ministers know, or contact Skip Speirs for further infor-mation. If you know somebody who is asking questions concerning The Church, we would appreciate you helping us help them.

PLEASE NOTE: Fellowship Potluck

CANCELED Due to the low attendance at our potluck, it has been decided to cancel unless there is someone who would like to take charge of getting it going again. If you are interested in doing that, let the office know.

ANNUAL REPORTS

ATTENTION MINISTRY LEADERS:

I will be compiling the Annual Reports

for distribution before the Annual Meeting.

Please have your reports in ASAP as I will

be working on them all month as they come

in.

CALENDER PLANNING:

We will be scheduling events for the year

2010. Please let us know if you are plan-

ning something for a certain date so we can

put it on the calendar. This eliminates the

problem of having more than one thing

scheduled at the same time. Always check

the calendar book in the office to make sure

your date is open. Also remember to reserve

the van when needed by marking it on the

wall calendar in the office.

HUNGRY? Then come and eat☺

Sunday November 14th, right after the service, your Haiti Mission Team will be hosting a Baked Potato Luncheon. It is a free will offering and all are invited. So bring your

family, your friends, your neighbors, and your appetite and enjoy a deli-cious baked potato meal to support sending your team overseas to “make disciples of all nations.”

Bible Bowl Update

Our Bible Bowl teams had their first monthly competition on October 9th. We had two teams that did great! Novesta Drumline (Luke & Alison) finished 1st, and Novesta Lifeblood (Sarah & Kayla) fin-ished 2nd. On the test, Sarah finished 1st, Luke 2nd, Alison 5th, and Kayla 6th! We’re really proud of our kids and their ef-forts and we ask that you continue to pray for them. Our next meet is November 6th.

SAGINAW SOUP KITCHEN November 19 ~ 8:50 a.m.

Novesta helps prepare and serve food on the third Fri-

day each month. If you would like to help, you are en-

couraged to sign up on the board in the middle hall-

way. It is a great opportunity to

serve and there is great fellow-

ship as you work together to

help others in need. It’s very

rewarding.

FAMILY GAME NIGHT November 19 ~ 6:30 p.m.

Come join the fun, food and fellowship as we meet for Family Game Night. Bring a dish to

pass (we eat first and then bring out the

games).

Most of us play Euchre but we also have

games going for those who don’t play. (Last

month, Tom Stimpfel, Sr. was the winner with

the most points.)

The kids enjoy getting together to play in

the gym or at video games. Most

of all, everyone enjoys the

fellowship.

COME JOIN US!!

HIS HOUSE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP His House has remained steadfast in its mission to share the Good News with university students for the past 41 years. His House is adjusting to the changing times that the ministry faces in the year 2010 and beyond. There has been some changes in staff this fall. Pete Elenbaas will join Sam Galvin in Marquette. Pete has served as associate campus minister at MTU in Houghton for the past four year and will also

lead the students at LSU in Sault Ste. Marie. Scott Crary, formerly working at LSSU in Sault Ste. Marie, moved to Mt. Pleasant to become the campus minister at CMU. Scott is continuing in the footsteps of 19 year veteran campus minis-ter, Matt Schantz who joined the National Nail Corporation in Grand Rapids as Director of Organizational Develop-ment. Matt’s role will be to help transform the culture of the company by hiring and developing people around eight principles including, dependence on God, integrity, servant leadership, generosity and trust. The Fall “His House” newsletter has featured three students from SVSU—check them out on the Mission Board. C.R.A.M. (Christ Reaching Asia Mission) CRAM Worldwide Inc. has two new flyers. One on their work in China and another on their work in North Korea. Check them out on the Mission Board. NEW CHURCHES OF CHRIST EVANGELISM The ministry of NCCE is to plant new churches so that people who are far from God can be reached. NCCE desires your prayers for a new church in Pittsburgh. Church of the Hills was begun 10-10-10. The South Hills area of Pitts-burgh is growing and there are very few Bible believing, evangelical churches in the area. Soon they plan to transform a movie theater into an assembly space that honors God. On 10-10-10 a new work also began in our region. The Southpoint Community Christian Church started a new ministry in Allen Park. This is a suburb just south of Detroit. We area looking forward to more information on this new work. Good news on the Canadian front. Church planters, Jose and Regina Fernandez, just received clearance from the Canadian government to enter the country to begin another new work! PIONEER BIBLE TRANSLATORS Matt & Shelby Honig and their five children have been blessed the past three years to have a nice apartment in the middle of Salekhard close to most of the stores and some of their friends from church. Unfortunately they have out-grown this two bedroom apartment. They have made the most of their space by purchasing loft beds for the boys and Matt & Shelby sleep on a pull-out couch in the living room. In this small space this family of seven live and do homeschool. Last Spring because of a large one-time gift, Matt & Shelby were able to purchase some land. They are hoping to raise the funds needed to start building their home in June or July after they return to Salekhard following a six month trip home to the States. We are looking forward to hearing about their work while they are home.
