700 meals later - GREAT time feeding DISD to pump them up and thank them for their investment in our
kids! SO proud of our church. ~50 adult and youth volunteers prepped food, served meals, helped with
drinks and desserts, welcomed educators, emptied trash, provided music and cleaned up. Thanks to our fearless leader, Cindy Brawley Scott for making it all
work so smoothly and to our adults and youth who gave time and energy to thank our schools.
EDUCATORS: Proud and humbled to have educators who invest in our kids AND give
to our community by helping restock our Food Pantry. THANK YOU!

BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS
was Sunday, August 12th.
Pastor Guy and the entire congregation of the FUMC prayed over the students
and their backpacks. There were given caribeaners that said, “Dayton FUMC
loves you.”
Dear FUMC,
I am so appreciative of you and what the church does for our children and our district. The DISD staff looks
forward to the luncheon every year! Thank you sponsors, cooks, supporters, musicians, greeters, workers,
etc. I love the partnership we’ve had for over 44 years and the delicious luncheon you continue to serve to
our Dayton ISD family. As Disney’s character Tigger says, “I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Never, no,
never. Your friendship is the best present ever.” God Bless FUMC! -Jessica

FRIENDS IN DEED MISSION
Our school year has started and also our FRIENDS IN DEED
MINISTRY at FUMC Dayton. We need funding from our generous congregation to maintain our ministry. It costs approximately $600 per school year for the basic needs of each child we help.
Those needs include school supplies, clothing several times a year, hygiene items, jackets, blankets and Christian reading materials.
Please donate to FRIENDS IN DEED!
ATTENTION ALL BELL RINGERS!
The Richter Family Handbell Choir will start back on September 5th @ 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary. If you want to be a part of this choir, please contact John Vance
~~ Substitute ringers are needed ~~
The FUMC Nursery is available, please text Dee Merrill @ 936-346-4640 for reservations.
