Sport-ability Stars
On Wednesday this week Perranporth School were very fortunate to be able to invite ten pupils to at-
tend the Treviglas Sport-ability Festival. This is an annual event which is designed to help children to
build confidence and encourage them to enjoy sport in non-competitive events. Our children had a
fantastic opportunity to try their skills at a range of alternative sports including sit down volleyball, in-
door curling, archery, boule and also martial arts! Mrs Edwards and I
were very proud of how our children represented the school. Every
single child gave maximum effort and commitment to each activity.
What was more impressive was their support and sporting behaviour
towards each other; they truly were a credit. All of us had a brilliant
time and learnt lots of new sporting skills. A huge well done to the
children and a big thank you to Treviglas College for putting on such
a great event.

Cornwall School Games—Swimming
On Thursday this week Perranporth sent a team of swimmers off to
Newquay to compete in a qualifier for The Cornwall School Games
This is a highly competitive series of events in which a number of different
schools take part throughout Cornwall to a high standard. Our children gave tre-
mendous performances and achieved several excellent places. Unfortunately the total points scored
was not enough to carry Perranporth through to the next round. Never mind, our children gave 100%
effort and certainly showed they are worthy competitors who will no doubt come back even stronger
next year - well done to all who took part!
