Christmas Performances On Thursday this week, the Perranporth School Choir made their festive visit to the residents of Per- ran Bay Care Home. The children sang a number of Christmas songs and gave a simply beautiful performance. Their voices were magnificent and really brought the festive cheer to Perran Bay. It was lovely to be able to share this with the residents and we were all very proud of the singers. Well done choir! If your child is in the choir, please don’t forget that we need their singing services again this Sunday at St Piran’s Church Perranzabuloe for the Christmas Tree Festival - arrive at 2.45pm. Homeless Shoebox Appeal Our School Parliament would like the families of Perranporth School to support a local appeal in aid of homeless people in Cornwall at Christmas time. The Homeless Shoebox Appeal is an opportunity for us to give a little thought to those less fortunate at this time of year. By preparing a shoebox or bag with some essential items (hats, scarf, tooth paste, torch jumpers etc), a huge differ-ence could be made to someone’s Christmas. The children have suggested that if families would like to prepare a shoebox, these can be dropped at the parent waiting shelter before Thursday 19th Dec when Mrs Wordly, who very thoughtfully suggested the idea, will transport them to the distribution centre. For more details on the appeal please follow this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/shoeboxappealwestcornwall/

Santa’s Grotto Santa is worried there won’t be enough Christ-mas Cheer to help his reindeer fly this year and he’s asking for the Children of Perranporth school to come and help him find some. Eve-ryone knows the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is to ‘shout out loud for all to hear’. And what better way than with your family and friends. This year Santa will be seeing groups of 10 children and asking for their help in getting his reindeer to fly this year. Groups will be in 10 minute time slots and each child will get a Chocolate Santa to say thanks for helping. Tickets are £2.50 and must be bought in ad-vance. These will be available after school Monday – Thursday next week or at the School Office.

School Crossing Patrol Position Available As shared in previous newsletters, our School Crossing Patrol Officer, Carol Wye is retiring after 32 years. CORMAC are now advertising the position for her replacement. This is an exceptionally important role to ensure the safety of our children coming to school each day. We have been con-tacted by CORMAC who are concerned that they may not have a re-placement officer in position in time for our return to school in January. So, if you, or anyone you know is interested in taking up the lollipop mantel, please do respond to the advert below. Thank you.
