Other News

Moving Groups and High School Groups started last week and all of the students are well on their way learning new strategies for moving and new ways to make friends in their new schools. We focus on all of the positive and fun things about moving and just how lucky we are to have such an exciting life. Again, if your child/ren are showing signs of worry about the upcoming move, please let me know and we can work on these worries in the groups. If one child has a worry, no doubt other children may have the same concern. Just another reminder for the DCO Christmas Treat at the Oasis Aquatic Centre on Saturday 23 November at 4:30. The Army Kapooka Band is holding their Annual Christmas Concert on Friday 13th December at the Kapooka Picnic area. This is a great night for families, so be sure to add the date to your calendar. There have been reports of snake sightings around the areas of Kapooka including the playground. As the weather is warming up, please be aware of snakes and keep an eye out. The big bins will be placed in the Village at the beginning of December for rubbish prior and during removals. Please

remember that these bins are to be used for small household items, not car tyres, car parts or mattress. Please be

mindful that these bins are for everyone to use, so if you have items that can go into your regular bins, please use

these in the first instance.

On Monday, 11th November, we held our Remembrance Day Ceremony. Our school leaders did an amazing job running the ceremony and all the students showed much respect on such an important day and should all be congratulated.

A huge thank you to CPL Shane Gillard for sparing the time to

come and play the bugle for the Last Post and Rouse. The bugle

always makes our ceremonies that little more special.

Kindergarten Orientation 2019 Our second orientation was very pleasant. The children who had been before settled in quickly, and took part in all activities offered.

A mole cricket was found in the playground during sports. We saved it and found out some interesting information about this creature that sings us to sleep at night.

Yr 4/5/6 students have been organising interesting games for a morning fitness circuit.

Assembly run by 2/3 class Congratulations to our award winners
