    Resilience

Our focus disposition this term is RESILIENCE. Resilience is the capacity to cope with unexpected changes and challenges, and to be able to recover quickly from difficulties. When students are resilient at school they can cope with learning that is new or challenging, understand that mistakes are okay and part of learning – being resilient means you have the confidence to get through tough situations. We develop resilience in our students by building their self-esteem, help them to build healthy friendships, supporting them to ask for help when needed, and working on problem solving skills and coping strategies. Resilience is a vital life skill as it allows students to tackle their challenges despite having set-backs.

We have received great news that the Department of Education is funding $200,000 worth of works to the exterior of the school, which will cover painting and repairs to timber work and eaves around the school. Thank you to the School Board and P&C for the support in presenting a case to the appropriate DoE personnel for consideration – we have a result! Work on the ‘Environmental Classroom’ is progressing well. The bitumen has been removed, replaced with a soft gravel, stones features and log seating. Thanks to a $1000 donation from the P&C we will be able to plant some suitable, hardy native shrubs to compliment the garden beds. P&C AGM

    Uniform Shop

The Uniform shop is open on a

    Wednesday morning from

    8.30—9.15am and a Thursday afternoon from 2.30 to 3.15pm

    (next to Room 5).

    Entertainment Books

The P&C will once again have Entertainment

Books available for sale this year, both the

physical book and the digital membership.

Keep your eye on our Facebook page and the

Newsletter for the Early Bird Specials which

    include some bonus value.

YOU ARE INVITED FOR DRINKS AND NIBBLES

Join us for Drinks and Nibbles at 6pm on the 26th of February, before the P&C AGM Meeting to meet

everyone (we are all just parents and carers from our own school community). We look forward to having

you. The Meeting starts at 6.30pm prompt in the Staff Room.

If you think you’d like to give one of the below positions a try (with our support), please come along on the 26th February and put your name forward. There are no skill sets required, we’re just a group of parents & carers that take an interest in our school and our children’s education, and we all help each other out. Together we can all help to provide the kids at Greenmount Primary the best opportunities we can.

We welcome anyone to become a member of the P&C. But this year, we would like to extend a special invitation to all of our Dads and/or Father Figures, as we would love to have your input on our Fathering Project (Guardians of Greenmount) and the events they run.

Please rest assured that you don’t have to join a committee or be an office bearer to have a say or to become a member. We welcome you and will fully support all those that do put their hands up. You are however most welcome to only join as a general member, and do as much as or little as you wish. There is no pressure...ever.

If you can’t make it to the AGM, you can still join at any time; membership forms are available on the school’s website or at the office. Just fill out the form, pay the whopping 20c annual fee and pop it into the P&C Mailbox at the front office. You will receive regular updates on school issues, P&C news, meeting discussions, organised events etc. You do not have to attend every meeting in order to be a member, and membership is open to the wider school community, so grandparents or other family & community members are welcome to join.

If you would like any further information, please feel free to email our Secretary or President at [email protected] or [email protected].

All positions are vacated at the AGM, and elections held for 2019 position holders.

Hope to see you at the meeting on Tuesday 26th February! Park on the basketball court (entry through the service gate). Meeting in the Staff Room.
