Dear Greenmount families, Welcome Back! The holidays disappear into distant memory once class routines start up! I trust everyone had an enjoyable break and took the opportunity to recharge for our final busy term. Class Placements for 2016 By mid term 4, teachers will begin considering the placement of students in classes for 2016. This is a rigorous process and our aim is to create balanced learning environment within all classrooms. Firstly, classes for 2016 will be structured taking into account the projected number of students in each year level, the number of teachers employed at the school and the availability of resources and facilities. We also aim to have a class structure which will allow for a change in enrolment numbers during the year. Then, teachers and Admin will consider the placement of individual students into the agreed class structure. Placements are based on our teachers’ professional judgements about students' educational needs and include the following considerations: Balance of academic performance Gender Behaviour and social development Work habits Students with special needs and students at educational risk Previous class placements Parent input regarding their child’s educational needs will be considered, however, requests in relation to choice of teacher will not be considered as a placement factor. Parents have the opportunity to share any concerns that they may have regarding the educational needs of their child/children by forwarding this in writing to the Principal before Friday 6 th November. Class lists will be published on January 29th 2016 prior to the commencement of the new school year. Given the rigorous nature of the placement process any requested changes will not be made. Dear Greenmount families,

Welcome Back! The holidays disappear into distant memory once class routines start

up!

Placements are based on our teachers’ professional judgements about students' educational needs and include the following considerations:

Balance of academic performance

Gender

Behaviour and social development

Work habits

Students with special needs and students at educational risk

Previous class placements Parent input regarding their child’s educational needs will be considered, however, requests in relation to choice of teacher will not be considered as a placement factor. Parents have the opportunity to share any concerns that they may have regarding the educational needs of their child/children by forwarding this in writing to the Principal before Friday 6th November. Class lists will be published on January 29th 2016 prior to the commencement of the new school year. Given the rigorous nature of the placement process any requested changes will not be made.

SCHOOL CANTEEN

The current lease agreement for operation of the school canteen is expiring. We will be advertising in local newspapers for Expressions of Interest from anyone considering taking over the lease of the canteen beginning in January 2016. The Expressions of Interest would need to provide details of prospective licensees and ABN details. We are hopeful that this will be a smooth transition so that the canteen can be up and running for the start of the 2016 school year.
