SUMMER
Have You
Heard ?
YEAH!
(FYI: This Fall we will look at 4 to 5 more topics
beginning in late September)
In just a few weeks members and friends of NHCC will be able to participate in the SUMMER SHORT study program. Beginning on Wednes-day, July 20th we will be looking at four different topics. These will be stand alone studies so if you can’t make them all that is OK. Make as many as you can. The following are the date and listing of each topic.
July 20 - Christians Growing Through Conflict
July 27- Christians Growing Through Study
August 3 - Christians Growing Through Worship
August 10– Christians Growing through
Fellowship and Service
Each session will last approximately one hour. There will be multiple opportunities to learn and share personal reflections related to each of the topics. Each session will begin at 6:28 PM. Come and be a part of the Crowd and mark these dates..
(Child care will be provided. Contact the church office)
Members of the General Board of New Hope Christian Church should plan to participate in the regular board meeting which is scheduled for July 17th. The meeting will begin at 1:30 PM in fellowship hall. There are several items that will be on the agenda for discussion. If you are an Elder, Deacon, Head of one of our committees, Trustee, or Church officer you are encouraged to attend. Make a point to mark this date on your calendar.
Following the Board meeting there will be a meeting of the Constitutional Revision Committee.

Gone’ Fishin’ On Saturday June 25, 2016, the children of New Hope took their dads and grandpa's fishing at a local pond, The children had a great time and caught several fish. After the fishing excursion, everyone returned to the church where a lunch feast of fish and chips, corn on the cob, hush puppies, coleslaw and ice cream and cake await-ed them. Thank you very much to the dads and grandpa's, Pastor Steve and Don Lee for your thoughtfulness and patience with the children. We are grooming the "Future Fishers of Men" and this fishing trip will have a lasting impres-sion and will create a pleasant memory which will be carried into adulthood.
Help Needed for VBS!
Volunteers are needed to help get ready for Vaca-
tion Bible School. A workday is set for Sunday
July, 10th. Lunch will be served to anyone who is
able to help. There is much to do to get
ready. There are lots of items that need to be cut
out. If you can use a pair of scissors, I need you!
There is class prep work and workbook assembly
that needs to be done. If you have a creative
mind, we definitely need you! There are many
areas that will need attention. I need large paper
grocery bags with handles like the ones you get at
Braum's. I will need about a dozen of those. Also,
I have the task of "junglizing" our church. My
budget does not allow for me to make unneces-
sary purchases. Monies must be spent wisely.
Therefore, I need silk greenery, silk plants in pots
or baskets, small ficus trees and large silk trees
that can be transported easily. I will tag each bor-
rowed item so after VBS those items can be re-
turned to their rightful owners. Our church, Fel-
lowship hall, sanctuary as well as hallways is a
lot of ground to cover. With your help and a
whole lot of God, we can give these children a
VBS experience they will not soon forget! Thank
you in advance for your help!

VBS Mission Project The New Hope VBS Mission Project for this year will be collecting school supplies for
a village in Africa to help a group of children who are being raised by their grandmoth-
ers. The New Hope kids helped choose which school supplies we are sending based on
what they use in school. Here is the list. Sunday, July 10 is hereby designated as School
Supply Sunday. Everyone is encouraged to bring their school supply donation on this
date to be collected.
