Target Audience & Needs

The audience for this band, would be older people who listen or like, electronic music which would be played in dance clubs, the audience would expect a catchy, up beat tempo that they could dance too also they would want something thought provoking.

Lyrics (Meaning Implied?)

The lyrics of the song are mainly the lead singer confessing that she thinks she is in love with someone’s brother and that she wants that person to tell him, that’s why she’s asking that person to pass it on, because she is afraid of what he might say to her confessing that she has feelings for him, at first it doesn’t really make any connection to the beginning of the video because it starts off with a man dressed as a woman just singing to an audience that doesn’t seem interested in what he is doing, but then when he sings the lyric “im in love with your brother” the camera shows another man which starts to dance with her, making it seem that this could be the man the song is about.

Tempo The temps of this song is a slow beat which gets quicker at some points in the song, especially when the audience in the video start dancing at the tables were they are sat and also when the boy starts dancing in front of the man singing the , then when members of the audience in the video start dancing after he has got up.

Genre The genre of music of this band is an electronic, dance music, the tempo of this music is quite calm and the video is a performance video but also has aspects of a narrative video because the story is that the lead singer is in love with one of the men in the audience.

Camera Technique A variety of camera techniques are used in this video one of them being close ups of the lead singer and people from the audience.

Also some over shoulder shot used when the singer first comes onto the stage and we get to see the audiences reactions to the man performing.

Medium shots are used when the camera is going through the audience getting shots of the different people’s reactions to the singer , and we see the different audience members dancing.

Long shots are also used in the video to show the audience when they are standing up from their seats and dancing and also a variety of long shots to show the entire body of the singer when he starts performing.

Editing The editing techniques used in this music video is mostly cuts which are used when the shots go from the singer and then to the audience, and backwards and forwards, the video cuts every few seconds and has a fast pace between each shot, and the movement of the people when dancing looks like they are moving in slow motion.

Use of Digital Effects The digital effects used in this video are low saturation which is done by changing the colour correction which has changed the colours to almost look faded giving the video a dull look.
