THRILLERS

Thriller movies are designed to scare and thrill its audience through different sub genres such as crime, physiological, conspiracy, mystery etc.

Directors such as Hitchcock have made a lasting impact on what a good thriller should be, with his many successful thriller movies, such as Vertigo!

A thriller usually consists of a mystery or problem that needs to be solved or removed, usually resulting in the death of others.

ROM - COMSRomantic comedy's, usually abbreviated to rom – coms are movies suitable for all ages (most of the time). Together, comedy and romance are put together in one film, making this genre a favourite for all.

The plot in a rom – com usually consists of a person who feels incomplete without love. Through certain circumstances they meet one person who will change their love life. After plenty of funny situations the couple eventually realise their in love, a happy ending for all!

Popular rom – coms are four weddings and a funeral, the diary of Bridget jones and love actually! They were all made by working title, an acceding British film producer who has made many popular rom – coms over the years (and continuing), their latest is I give it a year.

MUSICAL/DANCEMusical dance films are very popular amongst a young audience. They usually consist of telling a story with intervals or random songs and dance.

Disney have acceding in making musical movies popular amongst young kids and created High School Musical! The movie was such a success they continued to make two more parts to the musical film.

Other musical dance films are Hairspray, which told the story of a young girl back in the 90’s, trying to break into the TV industry, despite her large size, whilst also trying to gain more equality for the black community!

HORRORHorror movies fall into many different genres but overall, consist of scaring and frightening the audience. They usually consist of murder, deaths, blood and guts and monster like creatures!

The audience for horror films is obviously 18+, down to the basic fact the movie content of a horror film is very graphic.

A popular example is Saw. The film has had many sequels and tells the story of Jigsaw ( a scary puppet like figure) who gives a person he see’s who has lived an unfit life the chance to change their life around. He does this through a series of puzzles the individuals have to face, and if they do not they pay for it with their life or somebody else's.
