Born and raised in Oakland, California, design was a part of my life from a young age having been exposed to architecture through my father. I eventually followed in his footsteps as I entered university, beginning my journey towards a career in interior design. Throughout university, my time in a co-ed professional fraternity and collaborative projects across design disciplines exposed me to architecture, landscape architecture, industrial design and visual communication.Additionally, I have a great appreciation for many styles of design as a result of my international travels. Having been to several countries, some of which are the England, the Philippines, and Costa Rica, I have had the opportunity to experi-ence a great variety of cultures in person. It’s my understanding of these nuances that aides me in the design process as I enjoy researching and utilizing the ideas and details that make a location, company, or brand unique.--I believe good design, whether it be 2d or 3d, is that which addresses every sense of the body. Good design makes you want to touch and interact with it and en-gages your sight through its complexity or even because of its simplicity. It could have a soundtrack that reflects the energetic frequency of the space or piece, as well as a scent and even taste as we imagine a design being cool, metallic, warm, woody, fresh or sparkling. Good design should stir inexplicable sensations physi-cally, mentally or emotionally, engaging our past experiences and emotions to shape our individual subconscious experience of the design.--I am always seeking the opportunity to utilize my personality strengths, evolve and adapt my technical skills, get involved in all phases of the design process and take advantage of unique and challenging but rewarding experiences.

PROJECT SCOPE: Reposition food / beverage offerings, provide new design con-cept for two-story building housing two sister restaurants, exterior dining / lounge, events lawn, and adjavent beachside grill.

LOCATION: Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

The vision was to create a large, flexible downstairs venue that draws from local Florida culinary influences, uses a residential Floridian design concept and family style casual dining. For the upstairs restaurant, we refined the downstairs concept, elevating it and adding Caribbean influences to create a high-end destination seafood restaurant.

The elements that set this project apart are revitalized food and beverage offerings reflecting the Florida spirit, a dynamic restaurant and a flexible, functional beachside bar and grill. Our goal is to transform underperforming outlets into a synergistic, ef-ficient system, as well as drive revenue through impactful and charismatic spaces that provide high level impact for the guest.

With a team comprised of myself, two technical designers, and a senior designer who was on leave the duration of the design development phase, I was soley responsbile for creating the furniture and finishes palette, refining the architectural designs, and completing the DD presentation package for all three venues in a span of one month.

PROJECT SCOPE: Redesign for two golf course comfort stations and enhancement of current menu offerings.

LOCATION: Kailua-Kona coast, Hawaii

Working individually and soley with EDG’s CEO, this project aimed to build upon the current trend in enhanced comfort stations on golf resorts. Inspired by traditional Hawaiian fishing baskets, thees comfort stations are a golfer’s oasis. Whether it’s to catch a bite to eat or enjoy a drink, guests have the option to choose from an assortment of locally sourced and crafted foods and cocktails to continue their rounds refreshed and reenergized.

The stations offer guests a curated food selection which showcase Hawaiian dishes, local produce and native fruits. Both are stocked with the full range of offerrings but each features a different specialty menu item: Ke’Olu 6 highlights sweet treats of locally crafted ice cream and desserts, whilst Ke’Olu 13 highlights a savory selection of prepared charcuterie plates and poki bowls.

By developing a concept with the goal of creating a residential and authentic feel, we gave the client a design and menu that sets them apart from their competitors.

LOCATION: Gilbert, Arizona

LIGHTS Center for Internal Wellness was created with the intention of providing Arizonans with premium preventative and oncology treatment of colorectal cancer as it is one of the most common cancers in the state yet severely lacks in special-ized facilities. The treatment side is coupled with an educational aspect in order to create awareness and disseminate the fear that often comes with this type of cancer and its preventative procedures.

The design of the space is meant to emphasize this by referencing Arizona’s abundant sunshine and creating varying lighting features in order to give the space a feeling of lightness and clarity. Another of the overarching goals was to minimalise the sterile feel that is commonly found in healthcare facilities and instead create a warm, hospitality-like environment. This was accomplished mainly through the FF&E with the use of wood, attractive bariatric furniture and upholstery, and saturated colours. Additionally, I developed the logo for LIGHTS, not only representing guiding lights in a dark sky but also two figures, one offering the other shelter and support.

PROJECT TIMELINE: 1.5 MonthsPARTNER: E. Wiemann

LOCATION: Rock Springs Cafe, Black Canyon City, Arizona

As animals and humans travel across the land, they leave their mark with every step they take or mile they drive. Hooves, paws, feet, stagecoach wheels and automobile tires leave tracks that intersect and overlap over time. With these tracks, every being leaves behind a piece of themselves and a piece of their story. Rather than just a pit stop on a road trip, the goal is to have Rock Springs become a travel destination not only to enjoy world-famous pie, the desert nature of Arizona, or the history of Black Canyon City but also as the place to leave your own mark or impression to say I have been here.

The main goal of this project was to preserve as much of the original late-19th century structure as possible while renovating and updating the rest of the build-ing that had been added on over the years. In the souvenier shop, vintage travel chests serve as both displays and product storage. Wood slats reminiscent of wheel track marks were brought up the walls to block the harsh desert sun and extruded to create shelving.

In addition to the design program, we developed a new logo for Rock Springs to give the company a recognizeable, branded identity.

LOCATION: Singapore

Inspired by the four nations that have intersected to create the unique melting pot of Singapore: Britain, Malaysia, China and India. Structural de-tailing of traditional costume provides a glimpse into their lifestyles, while the features and elements become tangible manifestations of their culture. These provide the jumping off point and unique foundation from which Singapore can create its own history.

Brinamina welcomes all travelers, particularly catering to the frequent business traveler who seeks to experience the local culture but has limited time. The hotel aims to provide a taste of Singapore by bringing the cul-ture to the client and create an environment that not only acts as a venue for meetings or post-work gatherings but also gives travelers an ethereal escape from a hectic schedule.
