MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-May 2018 1. Sankalp won the prestigious Mission Box Grant Competition and will now get a grant of USD 3500 as prize and monetary support for its social activities 2. Sankalp has donated funds for building the school, uniforms and stationaries for all the students and developing sound infra for its school in Kalahandi, Sankalp Vidyashram. 3. Classes are running with full vigour and passion for new batch of students for 2019 batch. 4. Updated Tracking Sheet has been prepared and will be used for tracking the monthly contribution of sponsors 5. President has started taking classes for senior section at NIT centre. 6. Puja from Womens College, Jamshedpur is now doing her internship with Sankalp. She has started taking English Classes for senior batch at Telco Centre. 7. Regular tuition classes, digital literacy classes and sewing centres are running with huge interest and energy. Regular Reports are shared by Mr. Lalit and Sarojit from Kalahandi. 8. A welcome change has been brought at the Navodaya Centre where Girl Volunteers of Sankalp would be taking classes occasionally. This is the first such instance where girl volunteers have come forward and proved their mettle and passion. 9. Sankalp student achieved yet another feat when Kr Manasi from Telco Centre won certificate of appreciation at the Open Martial Arts Self Defence Camp organized for girls. 10. Students from 2014 batch were given farewell on 3 rd May. Volunteer Certificates were distributed and their efforts in taking Sankalp to newer heights were lauded. 11. Felicitation event was held at Telco Centre where students who had won in various events organized over the year like Drawing, Poetry writing etc were distributed. 12. Stationery donation was organized at Telco Centre for all the students. 13. Sankalps 4 th Centre in Giridih was inaugurated by Ms. Vijaya, SDM, Giridih. The centre would cater to the education of tribal children from Birhor Community. 14. Cloth donation event was organized at Mohan Nagar and Ikchapur Centre. 15. Bags donated by XLRI Team were distributed amongst kids from Aashiyana Centre. 16. Library was inaugurated by SP City, Giridih at Sihodih Centre, Giridih 17. Sankalp introduced yet another module of physical education for boys enrolled at our centre. This is essential to equip our boys with sound and correct facts to make them confident about their own self. Manish and Shaaquib, Sankalp volunteers shared their experience. 18. A Tale to live for life- Though it was not pre-planned, but it was very much worthy and much needed. It was awesome. The response of the students is appreciable. Everyone was listening very carefully. It all started with the introduction of each one of them. Everyone shares their likes and dislikes and aim. We told them the importance of moral values in our life. We need to respect everyone regardless of their gender, caste, creed and wealth and behave like a good boy. One of the students told a story of three old men - Love, Success, and wealth and he said we should spread love because the rest two will automatically follow it.19. Sitalpur Centre- Funded by Inner Wheels Club 4. Birhor Community Centre- To be started in June- Funded by Funded by Sankalp 6. Community engagement and local support is vibrant and enthusiastic 7. Somnath Ji is our central coordinator for all the centres 8. He is creating his own team of local volunteers (mostly interested graduates and students of Giridih who want to work with Sankalp voluntarily)

20. Volunteers from third year and second year held a meeting. The Minutes of meeting is

as: 1. Now the current second years must take charge and responsibility. Every decision will be taken by them and no one should feel neglected. 2. The first challenge will be 15th August and then the Sanskriti. (a) The tasks which must be done for Independence Day and Sanskriti were discussed. (b) For Sankriti, the importance and responsibility of centre coordinators matters a lot as prelims must be taken before the main event. (c) People going for buying stuffs for Independence Day and Sanskriti must take the prior knowledge from their seniors. 3. There should be coordination among different teams as there is lack of understanding among them. 4. There should be a fixed timing for hostel collections. 5. The criteria for sponsoring students were discussed and their monitoring. 6. Sanjeevani revaluation was also discussed. 7. Different queries were resolved. 8. A bit of motivation was also given by the seniors.

21. Common Test for the month of April was conducted across all the centres.

22. Monthly interaction led by President took place with the Team and special mention

was made to the tireless efforts which the volunteers are making for making the

different activities successful

page noted huge hike in likes and membership over the month

2. Sankalp saw a huge rise in daily requests for addition to its FB Page of

Sankalp Volunteers Group.
