============================================Flushing Half Marathon Postponed to Saturday, April 2============================================Due to icy conditons on the roadways, the Flushing Half Marathon has been postponed to Saturday,April 2. The half marathon and 5K will begin at 9:30 am, Flushing High School.http://www.riverbendstriders.com/
=======================================================================Mississauga and Toronto Slug It Out For Spring Marathon Supremacy, by Art McCafferty=======================================================================Last fall, was the last fall marathon for the Toronto Marathon, as it was unceremoniously droppedfrom the city's event schedule so they could focus the city's resources on the Scotiabank TorontoWaterfront Marathon, the stronger race of late and the selection of the city. The Toronto Marathon,with city backing, decided to run the marathon in the spring, but selected the same date as the verypopular Mississauga Marathon http://torontomarathon.comhttp://www.mississaugamarathon.com .
With both races being held on May 15th and both drawing heavily from the Toronto area, there is areal battle going on for runners. We will check out the winner after the races this May.

=====================================================MRN on the Road: Lakeland, Orlando, Tampa, St. ,Pete Beach, FL=====================================================LAKELAND: Caught last Tiger's Spring Training home game in the cozy, magical, Joker MarchantStadium in Lakeland. Part of the magic is that Tigertown in Lakeland rests on the World War II Airfieldon which Herschel McCafferty taught pilots how to fly. Justin Verlander pitched seven innings and ranback and forth on the warning track when the relievers took over. Wish somebody would clock JV in amile; he's pretty fast. Tiger Trot 5K is Saturday.
