Cystic Fibroses 3rd annual Tulalip Great Strides Walk
Why We Stride
In 2012, nearly $40 million was raised to help support life-saving research, quality care, and education programs. Real progress toward a cure has been made, but the lives of young people with CF are still cut far too short. We urgently need the public’s continued support to fulfill our mission and help extend the lives of those with the disease.
About Great Strides
Walk today. Add tomorrows. Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising event. More than 250,000 walkers come together each year as one community for one cause…to help find a cure for CF. Thank you for your interest in Great Strides. We’re looking forward to a great event in 2013! Each year, Great Strides continues to gain momentum, as do our research efforts and progress toward a cure.

“Coming in Mid August 2013 is our new Asian dinning outlet. Journey’s East will be a unique multi-cultural venue featuring an authentic menu with popular dishes from the Far East regions of China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. There will be hand-made noodles from a demonstration kitchen; a Sushi Bar with the freshest ingredients, Pad Thai, Pho’, and many other authentic dishes that make Journey’s East THE Asian cuisine venue of choice in Washington state! The décor, ambiance and setting of Journey’s East strike a tone of sophisticated, modern Asian décor blending calming bamboo, soothing water, and striking origami structure and visual artistry. Technology will also be featured in this venue with take-away ordering right from the casino floor, or the table games pits; as well as a touch screen menu panel for walk-up ordering at our ‘Quick Trips’ take-away window!
Whether you’re a novice to Asian cuisine, or an experienced traveler of the Far East, you’ll find the offerings at Journey’s East to be an authentic multi-cultural experience of culinary delight.”

New Roundabout in Quil Ceda VillageIf you’ve ever tried to exit Herman Williams SR drive and cross over into Quil Ceda Village Boulevard then you will understand how exciting it is to have a large roundabout coming to town. Roundabouts cost less to maintain than stop lights, and in addition WSDOT controls any signals we put up. Quil Ceda Village has an astounding, 53,650 cars that travel through it on a daily basis. Compare that to the 18,000 that drive on Marine drive past QCC!
Because of the large number of vehicular accidents and high traffic volumes it will
help improve the traffic congestion and safety in the area. The two lane roundabout will be constructed while maintaining traffic through the intersection and provide the safe movement of pedestrians. There will still be a gate across the road going into the construction training area.
We will continue to use energy efficient measures like LED street lights and traffic counters. The pedestrian crossing signals will also be solar powered. Construction will begin on or before July 8th with substantial completion planned on or before October 15th, 2013, just in time for the onslaught of holiday shopping customers to our area.

The Tulalip Clinical Pharmacy has a new generator. The Generator will now restore power to the pharmacy during any outage that our weather tosses our way. Power will stay on assuring the safety of our employee’s and medicines. Medicines that require refrigeration or are temperature sensitive like vaccines or injectables; like a variety of insulin’s will maintain its usability, saving us between 10,000 and $20,000 a year. The Generator also puts us in compliance with the Snohomish County Disaster Team assuring that we have safe medicines always on hand for emergencies.
