Message from Director (HR) My dear fellow IOCians, I extend warm greetings to each member of the IndianOil family on the joyous occasion of 62nd IndianOil Day. It is indeed a momentous occasion as the day reminds us of the rich legacy, we have been endowed with by being a part of this great organisation. A corporation born out of the need for self-reliance in 1959 is now one of the torch bearers of Aatmanirbhar Bharat in 2021. Today is a day for IOCians to celebrate the phenomenal journey of this mammoth organisation that fuels the aspirations and dreams of a billion Indians every single day. As the Energy of India, IndianOil ows in the veins of this vast landscape, through its remote corners and in the hearts and minds of the people of India. Therefore, 'Pehle Indian Phir Oil' is not just a mere slogan but an emotion for the IndianOil family. In the 75th year of independence, when this great nation is facing one of its biggest challenges in the form of a pandemic, IndianOil has been at the forefront to aid the nation with Liquid medical oxygen, medical supplies and round the clock energy supplies across the length and breadth of India. The Corporation has spent more than Rs 275 Crore in the nation's ght against COVID-19. 12 PSA plants have been installed, 2000 Oxygen concentrators and 4000 Oxygen cylinders have been donated so far. In this battle against COVID-19, our extraordinary IOCians have been central to our efforts. They have gone beyond the call of duty to serve the nation. In recognition of the efforts of our COVID Warriors and as a mark of the Corporation's support to the bereaved families of employees who expired during these difcult times of pandemic, a lumpsum amount of Rs. Fifty lakh shall be extended as "Samvedna Rashi" to the bereaved family for all deaths of employees between 1.1.2020 till 31.03.2022. For the unfortunate children who were orphaned after the death of an employee, a "Shiksha Mitra" policy has been introduced to ensure the continuity of their education by providing nancial assistance of Rs. One lakh per child for education up to Class XII plus a monthly allowance and Rs. 5 lakh per annum beyond Class XII and up to graduation along with a monthly allowance. The Corporation also ensured early disbursement of PRP to ofcers and PLI & PIS to workmen to mitigate the nancial hardship to IOCians resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. It has created a ‘new normal’ where the traditional way of working has fallen by the wayside. The Corporation while responding to the dramatic shift has embraced digitalisation in a phenomenal way. From talent acquisition to conducting Leadership Centre assessment tests, the Corporation has imbibed digitalisation in every spectre of its work. The seed of ‘Swadhyaya’ planted before the pandemic bore fruit at the right time as the organisation saw a massive shift to online learning. More than a million courses have been completed so far. To keep the momentum going in the ‘Swadhyaya’ initiative, we had introduced electronic appreciation certicates in four categories (Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze) based on the number of courses completed. With an aim to further consolidate IndianOil's position as a learning organisation, Swadhyaya 2.0 has recently been launched. The focus of Swadhyaya 2.0 will be on creating higher competency and higher interactivity learning content as well as introducing alternate learning modalities like ‘Ask the Expert’. Talent Vision and Strategy framework for the next three years, i.e., from 2021 to 2024, has been launched recently to enhance human capital within the organisation. Our vision would be to "Align our People and Talent Capability to deliver our Energy Promise to the Nation". Along with our core values, we will be driven by a DARE2 framework – Demonstrating Dexterity in Decision Making, Building an Adaptable Workforce, Being Resilient in the face of uncertainty, Motivating people through continuous Engagement. Our core guiding principle – which forms the bedrock of the framework – will be Empathy. With the endeavour to keep IOCians updated with the latest happenings in Human Resources, we have facilitated access to "Bersin – Research and Sensing Portal", which is a state-of-the-art knowledge platform. The portal houses a host of research reports, webinars, proprietary frameworks, and articles on various human capital management areas. The Corporation has also launched ‘Madhyama’ 1 & 2 - A 2 Week Mid-Career Training Programme for all ofcers who have completed service of 12 years and 22 Years, respectively. It is my belief that ‘Madhyama’, a holistic learning programme encompassing a detailed overview of global trends and outlook of Oil and Gas sector in India, new initiatives in Marketing, business outlook plans & challenges in Reneries, etc. will help in accelerating IndianOil's transition into a learning organisation. I also believe that talent management is vital in ensuring the growth of the Corporation. IndianOil is at the cusp of fully adopting and rolling out the Integrated Talent Management System, which will provide the availability of the right talent mix at all times for all our critical and pivotal positions. “A happy employee is a productive employee”. At IndianOil, we recognise that organisational growth stems from the productivity of employees and the overall experience an employee shares with their co-workers, immediate supervisors, and company culture impacts the employee's performance, thereby impacting the performance of the Company. To continue the benchmarking process, I am pleased to announce the launch of Pratidhwani 2.0, aimed to gauge the satisfaction and engagement level of employees. On IndianOil Day, I am also delighted to inform all IOCians, that IndianOil's premier training institution, IiPM, has been certied by ISO 21001 earlier this year. IiPM is the rst Public Sector Training Institute to be certied in India. To enhance the overall learning culture and to develop a growth mindset among IOCians, Chairman launched the Integrated Corporate Mentoring Framework 'Abhigyan' on 1st Jan 2021 for providing mentorship to new ofcers, mentorship across grades along with reverse mentoring. I am now pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Abhigyan’ portal, which will provide an opportunity to all employees, regardless of location, to learn and develop in collaboration with mentors across the Corporation. The portal will allow participants to benet from accelerated and comprehensive learning, get insights into business strategy and share best practices throughout all business areas. The Corporation is striving hard to full the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. IndianOil is taking the lead in the realisation of this vision with several initiatives. Recently the permanent campus of Skill Development Institute (SDI) at Bhubaneshwar was dedicated to the nation by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik in presence of Hon'ble Union Minister of Education and Skill & Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Labour and Employment Shri Rameswar Teli, Minister of Skill & Development & Technical Education Department. The foundation Stone of ICT-IOC was also laid to give birth to an institution that will help in transforming the technical education landscape and enrich the hydrocarbon sector. IndianOil is steering SDI-Bhubaneswar as a 'Greeneld Mega Model Multi Skilling Institute' and has contributed Rs 255 Crore for setting up this Institute. SDI-B stands as a testimony to IndianOil's commitment to driving the mandate to empower our youth with opportunities to achieve inclusion, enhance their productivity and reduce skill shortages at the national level. This duo of SDI and ICT-IOC will give a boost to the Skill India Mission of the Hon'ble PM. Going ahead, I am condent that IndianOil will continue to deliver on its promise of being the 'Energy of India' every single time. In this Year of Opportunities, IndianOil will do whatever it takes to surmount every obstacle, protect its people, and harness their immense potential to take the organisation to greater heights. In this 75th year of independence, as we work with the spirit of 'Pehle Indian Phir Oil', I am of the rm belief that IOCians will fuel the journey towards an 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'.
