In the video “Tik Tok” by Ke$ha the lyrics fit the visuals for example, the images on the left show the artist being stopped by the police, which relates in the lyrics which state:

“Now, now, we go until they kick us out, out or the police shut us down, down, po-po shut us”

This is shown by the police man grabbing her and handcuffing her on the car. This represents that she is rebellious and has no respect for the authority.

The cutting rhyme in Calvin Harris’s video “I am not alone” varies in cutting rhythm. In the beginning the cutting rate is slow in order to engage the audience and make them want to watch on to understand what is happening.When the beat fastens in the chorus the cutting rate also increases, however when it gets to the bridge of the song the cutting rhythm slows down.

Genre CharacteristicsThe genre of rock is usually associated with guitars and flashing lights.

In Rock the misc en scene of the props is normally members of the band playing drums or instruments.

The genre of rock normally has bands instead of just solo artists.They are normally also seen as being rebellious.

There’s a direct gaze making you feel like the artist is talking to you.

There's voyeurism because the direct looking into the camera, makes you feel that the artists are giving an insight into there life.

The record label is trying to appeal to a younger audience and a younger generation.

The party is something that young children do often so they would be able to relate to the partying lifestyle.

Also the record label has produced a younger artist instead of an old and mature artist, the reason for this is because it’s more easier to attract attention from the younger audience with a younger artist.

Performance based music video

The video of Latoya luckett is performance based because she is up on stage performing to us.Performance based video makes it more effective if your trying to get a message across, for the reason that the actors gestures also paint a picture, and show you how they are feeling. Performance based video is normally done with love songs, so a performance makes it easier to express and declare their love.
