Dear St. John’s University Community,

From freshman Ramya Ramana speaking at Mayor Bill de Blasio’s inauguration to the Presidential Investiture ceremony of Conrado “Bobby” Gempesaw, Ph.D., the University made headlines locally, nationally, and internationally throughout 2014.

St. John’s image as a leading Catholic, Vincentian, Metropolitan, and Global University was seen by millions of people around the world and featured in newspapers such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, as well as on many television and radio outlets.

Our esteemed faculty’s expert opinions were quoted in hundreds of media outlets on topics ranging from cybersecurity to family traditions, and the University was recognized on several college-ranking lists in categories such as innovative programs and campus security.

In this year’s Media Impact Report, you will find that the important work St. John’s students and faculty are doing in both the classroom and our community has touched more people than ever before.

These media placements are equivalent to millions of dollars in advertising. This was a banner year for St. John’s, and the Office of Media Relations is proud to share these snapshots with you as highlights from our past calendar year.
