M ay Half Term 2017

Welcome to the May Half Term Holiday 2017 Club Brochure.

Holiday Club takes place during every holiday and half term throughout the school year with the exception of Christmas week and staff INSET days.

Holiday Club starts from 8.00am and runs until 6.00pm if you need it. You can book your child in for any combination of whole days, morning sessions or afternoon sessions. You can book your child in for separate sessions on dif ferent days if that is what is required. Christmas, Easter and Summer Holiday Clubs take place in the hall and Half term Holiday Club takes place in the nursery.

The cost is £22 per session for morning or afternoon and £40 for the whole day.

The aim of the Holiday Club is to provide the children with activit ies that are fun, educational, healthy and relevant to the time of the year. There is always a choice of indoor and outdoor play with a range of activit ies and toys to choose from. We also include specialist activit ies and sessions such as sports, arts and crafts and cooking.

Please can we remind all parents that their child will need morning and afternoon snacks as well as a lunchbox.

If you would like your child to attend any of the sessions this half term, please complete the slip on page four of this brochure and return it to the school off ice as soon as possible. Whilst late bookings can be accepted in an emergency, we need bookings in advance to be able to ensure we are appropriately staffed to cover the Holiday Club. Alternatively booking forms can be obtained from the School Off ice.

Monday 29th May CLOSED FOR THE BANK HOLIDAY

Tuesday 30th May

Morning - Making bottom bottle turtles- if you have any plastic bottles please can you drop them into Miss Amy over in the nursery.

Afternoon - Bake off afternoon as we bake and decorate biscuits. The children will also take part in parachute activit ies and games.

Wednesday 31st May

Morning - Picnic in the park (weather permitting) - join us for a fun morning at the park including a picnic! Children will need a lunch box as normal and are welcome to bring a teddy, ball or frisbee.

Afternoon - Hama beads and physical activit ies in the hall using the P.E equipment.

Thursday 1st June

Morning - Bake off morning as we bake chocolate chip muff ins and a game of rounders to burn off our energy afterwards.

Afternoon - Trip to Corsham Court f ields (weather permitting). Please ensure your child brings a pair of wellies.

Friday 2nd June

Morning - Making necklaces and bracelets using a range of dif ferent beads and childhood games including what's the time Mr Wolf and Splat.

Afternoon- Trip to the library. Children are welcome to bring their l ibrary cards.

Every day we will be doing exciting activit ies including sports and games and, in addition, we will have the following special activit ies on offer throughout the week ......

BOOKING AND PAYM ENT

All application forms should be returned by M on 15th M ay to guarantee a place at the Holiday Club. Charges for Holiday Club will be added to your invoice. Childcare vouchers can be used to pay for Holiday Club - please contact finance@heywoodprep.com for more information. All booked sessions will be charged for in order to plan staffing and ratios accordingly.

CHANGES TO PROGRAM M E

Whilst every effort is made to avoid changes to the programme, we reserve the right to withdraw or amend any part of the programme without prior notice.

LATE COLLECTION

A charge may be made for staff overtime costs that are incurred by the School as a result of late collection.

ILLNESS AND M EDICINES

If a child becomes ill during the day staff will inform parents by phone using the numbers provided on your school registration form. If your contact details have changed please inform the office. Any child who is ill or who has suffered from sickness or diarrhoea in the previous 48 hours must not attend the Holiday Club. Please declare any medical condition that may affect your child's participation in any of the activities. If your child needs to take medicine during the day you should bring it in and complete a 'Permission to Administer M edication' form which will be provided at the Holiday Club or is available on the web site for you to print out in advance.

POLICIES

All school policies apply to Holiday Club, including the safeguarding policy.

PHOTOGRAPHY

We occasionally take photographs of children during activities which may be used on the website and in future promotional material. If you specified that you do not want photographs of your child on the website when registering at Heywood Prep we will ensure your wishes are adhered to.

ELECTRONIC EQUIPM ENT

Children are allowed to bring in their hand held consoles - this will be entirely at their own risk. The children will only be allowed to play sensible and certified games, all console use will be supervised by members of staff and there will be no internet connection to the consoles. They will have a 30 minutes time slot during a morning and afternoon session to play on these. Please make sure their consoles are fully charged.
