i. Location in close proximity of NCT Delhi / part of NCR.ii. Located in close proximity of International Airport (Delhi) / Major entry

point to India.iii. RRTS connecting Alwar to Delhi stands approved.

• Built heritage: Alwar located in the middle of Golden Triangle of tourism (Delhi – Jaipur –Agra) occupies relatively lower position.

• Eco-heritage: Alwar occupies relatively a higher position vis a vis Golden Triangle Towns.Consequently eco-heritage could be exploited / and entertainment city could be planned.

• Considering about two hours travel time from Delhi (RRTS) and Jaipur,Alwar could be an ideal week end tourist destination

Economic Growth : Opportunities / Constraints :Crystallisation of Educational and Health Facilities – Alwar

• It has been noted that knowledge Industries have started crystalising atAlwar. Consequently this sector could be considered as a focus area forfuture development of Alwar. Inter alia a knowledge city could beplanned.

• It has also been noted that health sector economic activities have alsostarted crystalising at Alwar. Consequently Medical tourism could beconsidered as an area of focus, Inter alia a Medi city could be planned.

2. Social Equity / Inclusive Development

i. Alwar has been proposed by GoR under RAY programme for making it aSLUM FREE CITY .

ii. Affordable Housing policy Rajasthan – 2009.

• At least 15% of the dwelling units/plots (or 5% of the total residentialarea of the scheme, whichever is higher) are to be earmarked forEWS/LIG housing.

iii. GoR directions – Master Plan should address poor section of the society.

iv. 12th Plan recommendation of planning commission – Design compactcities with special emphasis on lower income category.

ii. To reduce energy consumption:• Use green technology in construction of buildings.• Use non-conventional energy supply sources to support functioning of

city.

iii. To reduce pollution:• Cover entire urban area with sewerage.• Use modern methods of solid waste management.

3. Environmental sustainability:
