Our Community Open Day we held recently was amazing. We invited the whole community to this special day where we wanted to bless the people in this needy area.

Squirt the Clown (specially imported from Faith Church Melbourne) was a big hit. There were many games, free haircuts and hair styling, manicures, lots and lots of free clothes, BBQ and snacks, craft making, face-painting and wet sponge-throwing at Ross’ face.

This was a great opportunity to be salt and light in this community.

COMMUNITY OPEN DAY

ROCKING THE CITYIgnite band from Encompass Church were tearing up the city for Jesus as they performed in universities, a music bar, an international church, and an outreach meeting.

The outreach meeting was the climax of a great week with 90 people responding to Christ.

THE MOUNTAIN OF DEATH AND THE CLIFFS OF INSANITYWe were invited to conduct a leadership training program for the leaders from 10 different Miao churches recently. I invited two Aussie pastors over to help with this training, Robbo and Gaff. It was an incredible time of impartation and visitation of the Holy Spirit.

The venue chosen was on the top of a mountain 2,700 metres (8,850 ft) above sea level. Driving up the mountain was pretty scary as it was narrow, windy, and rutted, with a drop of 300 metres down the cliff face. However, driving back down took scary to a whole new level. It had rained the last day of the training, which caused mudslides that washed across the mountain roads. As I was driving through the slush, our team had to literally keep pushing the back of the van sideways so it wouldn’t slide off the mountain. The good news is we are still alive, otherwise you would be reading my obituary, instead of this newsletter.

PLEASE PRAYFUTURE HOPE SUMMER CAMP, 4 JULY-5 AUGUST: We will be conducting a camp for the children

who live in area where we have established the Community Centre. Volunteers from several Chinese churches will be helping us. Please pray

that this will be a time of effective ministry to these children.

FUTURE HOPE COMMUNITY CENTRE: Pray for our team as they share Bible stories with the children, that there won’t be any pushback or security problems with the local authorities.

FRUIT FROM THE YOUTH CONCERTS: Pray for those who responded to Jesus during the outreach concert that they will be established in local churches. Our team has held several follow-up meetings to help these new converts in their journey of faith and to connect them with local

believers.

MIAO PASTORS: Pray for the leaders of the Miao minority group

that they will continue to grow in the things of the Spirit and lead their people into a dynamic walk

with God.
