GO WHERE THE FISH AREThe fish we are after aren’t in churches, so we go to universities, shopping malls, and music bars to conduct concerts.

USE THE RIGHT BAIT.Our bands perform a mix of modern Christian music as well as popular Western songs that are familiar to the Chinese young people. It’s not about the music styles that I like, but it’s all about what bait will attract the fish.

DON’T TRY TO CLEAN THE FISH UNTIL YOU HAVE CAUGHT THEM.Too often we try to Christianise people before they have even accepted Christ. There is no point in telling people what to wear, how to speak and how to behave if they are not indwelt by the living Christ. This only produces legalism and frustration. We accept people as they are and endeavor to move them towards Christ.

OUR EVANGELISTIC PHILOSOPHY

CITY HOPEAn amazing band from Cityhope Ipswich came over in September and rocked the city. Two universities, a shopping centre, an International Fellowship, as well as two outreach concerts where we saw over 100 people respond to Jesus!

Next week we are inviting all the people who responded to attend a follow-up meeting at the same hotel where we conducted the outreach concert. This will be a time of sharing important keys to help them in their journey of faith as well as connecting them to local churches. We will give each person a Bible, lessons to study and a Christian music CD.

FUTURE HOPE COMMUNITY CENTREAfter several possible buildings for our community centre fell through, we recently found the perfect place. Just signed the contract and have started painting, renovations etc. Donna is really excited, as this has been her dream - to provide a place of blessing, safety and possibility for the children in the needy area where we are working.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING

“Just what we needed!” was the response from the leaders in a strategic city in China. We were able to conduct a program for almost 200 young leaders focusing on youth ministry. Speakers from Hope Centre and Faith Christian Church were sharing powerful insights and practical applications about developing a dynamic youth ministry. This will be an ongoing program as we partner together these amazing young leaders.

Follow-up meeting with people who responded at our last outreach concerts. Pray they will continue moving forward in their journey of faith and become connected to a local

fellowship.
