Making of the AdvertisementPart 2

Then we started looking at the typography for the title on sites like dafont.com and through Photoshop’s own fonts. We figured that a clear easy to read title would be best, so we went with this font called ‘Lane A’. Also added a sneaky red tab across the advertisement to direct the viewer’s eyes straight to the ‘Miles Kane’. We reduced the opacity on the tab so it blends in more with the backdrop of the curtains and doesn’t look too bold and striking. As you can see here, we also altered and experimented with the ‘Miles Kane’, here the opacity is clearly reduced and faded.

This is what we decided on for our title ‘Miles Kane’, we ended up changing the opacity to full as as it’s the title it needs to be clear and direct. We experimented with filters and effects on it and went with an effect called ‘charcoal’, and then added a black stroke and drop shadow to make it stand out more.

This is the font we decided to use for our advertisement, it’s called ‘Lane A’ and you can get it off dafont.com. We chose this as it’s clear and easy to read, yet it’s quite a modern trendy font that is pleasant to look at and can make the image as a whole.

After we’d settled on the title, we began on the information are of the poster. Keeping to the title font seemed like a good idea and also would make the image look better and more professional. ‘Come Closer’ is the name of the EP and also the song that we’re promoting and doing our own version of. We also added a small white tab across the advertisement to separate the image from the information, but we reduced the opacity so it doesn’t look as sharp.
