Brother Steward

Around the Block. Around the World

Centuries ago, we Brothers would have given the sackcloth off our backs for a Smartphone or an Ipad. We were limited in what we could do and who we could help because all poverty was local; it was just beyond the walls of our Monastery. Our

Facebook was a face-to-face look at the needy.

Our tweets were the chapel bells signaling the soup kitchen was open. Our social network was word-of-mouth usually saying, “Can you help me?” Today, we can help people around

the block and around the world. Stewardship is unlimited.

Right here at our parish we can text and tweet a prayer, a worship schedule, a ministry meeting, a plea for help, or a thanks for a good deed. We can support our church with online giving, search out local charities and foreign missions, and find volunteer opportunities. Instantaneously, we can contact our own outreach ministries. It is ironic that the “apple” in the Garden of Eden that led to damnation is the trademark for devices that can be the salvation for millions of the world's poor. The Lord gave us many gifts to use wisely. Technology

is one of them. God Bless.

Please pray for the sick and suffering: Mike Gebes, Theresa Welch, Evie Graber, Gary Chase, Mary Novotny, Dr. Reynen, Matt Hanten, Shirley Gross, Dick Speilmann, Bob Rasmussen, Jim Steele, Marie Giddings, Duane Pomham, Milton Tiper, Denny Weaver, Ken Stewart, Kendal and Kenedi Breyfogle, Freda Lawhon, Misty Brown, Lynette Singleton, David Gross, Carl Rathbun, Mike Kelly, Steve Zaiko, Spencer Young, Marilyn Tassler, Donald LeClaire, Mike Iversen, Ashlynn Fitts, Heidi Shepherd, Jean Petersen Wilson, Brian Dumas, William Anderson, John Manning, Rich Garrity, Richard Brown, Pam Patton, Terry Hughes, Kathryn Schlechter, Keri Hendrickson, Heidi Alban, Yvonne Ehlers, Steeley Moore, Eva Fischer, Eleanor Unterbrunner, Leanne Goff, Cassie Miller, Bernie Duffy, Mary Beth Moser, June Wheeler, Richard Abernathy, Mona Lierly, Kathy Fenwick, Lynae Benham, Theresa Severyn, Kaylee Jo Gallagher, Eric Buchmann, Grady Jacobson, Maddox Rowland, Eileen Hofer, Barb Brown, Cindy Foreman, Cindy Hogman, and all who ask for our special prayers. To add/remove someone from the list, call Irma LeFaive - 280-9055.
