HEMATOLOGISTA full time hematology position with a focus on benign hematology will be available at Southlake from July 2021.Southlake is a large 500+ bed full service community hospital with regional programs including cardiovascular medicine and surgery, thoracic surgery, and the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre.
This position is hospital-based with clinics run through the ambulatory day care medicine clinics. The clinics include general hematology referrals and thrombosis/hemostasis. In addition, a clinic will be provided once weekly at the Stronach Cancer Centre for the management of malignant disease. OntMOA will support this position with 0.2 FTE position funding. There are 2 other hematologists with a focus on benign hematology as well working in these clinics. There are an additional 4 hematologists working at the Stronach Cancer Centre who also provide some on-call support. There is a need and desire to build and grow the thrombosis/ hemostasis program which provides support across all hospital clinical programs. The hospital has a large internist/hospitalist support system that provides primary care for all inpatients. All subspecialties are well represented including infectious disease, respirology, and ICU. Pathology and laboratory support is available.
