March 2012 Dear mission partners, Two of our COCM volunteer workers living in the mission centre started to fast for Lent 40 days before the Easter. They shared with us their desire to prepare their hearts for Easter and to draw closer to God by giving up some of their favourite food in the world. I am very encouraged to see young people practic ing spiritual discipline in their daily lives. Most of our staff workers are also busy preparing for the coming Easter season throughout the country. Traditionally, Easter is one of the busiest seasons for us to organise various camps for students and young adults. This year, we will again organise and support three major Easter camps up and down the UK. The Mandarin Easter Conference will be held at COCM mission centre from 30 th March to 3 rd April. More than 100 mandarinspeaking students have already applied to join this camp and the camp has been full long before the deadline for early bird (15 th February). 25 shortterm mission team members from USA will come to support this camp and our local organising committee from COCM is currently working on the detailed programs. We see the great need to reach out to this group of Mandarinspeaking students and we pray that God will send more workers to support this ministry. Shortly after this mandarin camp will come two similar conferences – South England Easter Conference (SEEC) and Midlands Easter Conference (MEC). Both of them are for those Cantonese and English speaking students and young adults. Since 1981, COCM has been supporting SEEC by sending our staff workers to help. This year, our fulltime worker Anthony Lau is the advisor for SEEC. For the past two years, another fulltime COCM worker Lawrence Sin has been advising the committee of MEC. We give thanks for what God has been doing through these two conferences to lead many seekers to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, to strengthen young people’s faith in God, and to mobilize their hearts for mis sion. Usually, SEEC and MEC are organised by local Chinese churches and fellowships on a rotating basis. This year, Brighton Chinese Christian Church will be the leading church for SEEC, and Leicester Chinese Christian Church will lead MEC. Please pray that the organising committees have the wisdom to plan the events and that more young people will come to attend the conferences and be encouraged. The regis tration is under way and we want to encourage the students and young adults in South England and Mid lands area to participate. Please see the websites of SEEC www.seec2012.org.uk and MEC www.the mec.org/MEC_2012 for further information. This coming weekend, we will have our first B.E.S.T. (Biblical Enrichment Short Trainings) training week end held at COCM mission centre. There will be more than 70 young Christian leaders coming to partici pate this training. We hope that this weekend will be the starting point of our training to help the young leaders grow and mature in Christ. I’m so grateful for God that we have this privilege to utilise COCM as a base to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with young people coming from all over the world. Please pray that the young people will be strengthened in the Word of God and to commit their lives as a living sacrifice to this Lord of resurrec tion! Serving together in Christ, Rev. Henry Lu General Director

SEEC  www.seec2012.org.uk以及 MEC  www.the-‐mec.org/MEC_2012網站查詢。
