IntroductionThe audience I am directing this for is for a variety of ages; I want both young children and college students like myself to be able to follow these instructions to build the Lego House. The purpose of these instructions is to see how well I could explain the assembly of the Lego House I designed. My goal is for those who are interested in building this project to be able to complete it successfully by following the step by step instructions without becoming confused or lost in the process.

4. Click Run on the pop-up window to start downloading the Lego Digital Designer program. 5. Once the download is complete, follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation of

the Lego Digital Designer program on your computer.6. Materials Needed:

Warnings and Cautions Do not keep loose pieces around where small children can reach them. Pieces can easily be

swallowed and/or choked on by small children. Build your Lego house on a sturdy table or counter so the Lego house is not in danger of falling

onto the floor. Do not leave your Lego house or extra pieces on the floor where others could trip over or step

on them. Make sure you check for all pieces before beginning to assemble the Lego house. Do not substitute any missing pieces with non-Lego items.

Assembly and Instructions 1. Choose as place to build your Lego house and place your green base plate there.2. Place two of the red 2x8 bricks together to form a straight line in the middle of the green base

plate.

3. Place another red 2x8 brick perpendicular to the corner of the line formed in step 2.a. Connect a red 2x4 brick parallel to the back of the house and then place a tan 2x2 brick

next to the red 2x4 brick.b. Insert the white door next to the tan 2x2 brick and then place a red 2x4 brick next to the

User Test OutcomeI gave my finished Lego House project to two of my teammates so that I could conduct my user test using them as my test subjects one day after practice earlier this week.

Both test subjects liked that I had lots of pictures alongside my instructions to illustrate what they should be doing. I knew when writing out the instructions that some may seem complicated so I purposely inserted lots of visual images of what I was describing to make it easier to understand. The test subjects appeared to appreciate this when surveying the Lego House.

One of the test subjects told me that they appreciated having a list of all the pieces beforehand so they would not get halfway through building the house and realize they were missing a piece.

The other test subject had a suggestion that I could present multiple viewing angles or possibly a zoomed in look for some of the steps so that he could see some of the smaller steps in greater detail.

Both test subjects said that they liked the way the manual was put together with titles that jumped out at you for each section so they could easily find what they were looking for while reading through the manual

A change I made after conducting the user tests was to add a few extra pictures to show smaller steps to minimize the user getting lost in the directions.
