THE BOOK FAIR NEEDS YOU!

Kenwood School’s annual Book Fair will take place March 26th through March 29th. Volunteers will be needed for set-up, helping students during the sale, and packing unsold books back into boxes after the sale.

Setting up for the sale involves putting books on display tables on the Friday before the sale (3/23). Volunteering during the sale means helping the students find books, counting their money with them if needed, assisting with book donation labels, and whatever else needs to be done. Right after the book sale ends (after lunch on 3/29), we pack unsold books back into the boxes in which they arrived. Copperfield’s picks them up the next morning.

The volunteer sign-up poster will be hung on the wall just inside the front door of the main building next week. I hope you are able to join us with your partial or full day help. You’ll be glad you did!

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We are excited for the KSA sponsored STEAM Museum that will be here on Friday, March 9. Each classroom will get to spend 40 minutes at this mobile museum doing hands-on activi-ties related to STEAM. We need 5 parent volunteers who want to spend the day at one of the exhibits helping bring this program to life! You will need to be available from 9:15am-3:00pm, and will have a recess and lunch break. Mr. Bales has even offered to provide a school lunch if you volunteer! There is a sign-up in the school office, or please email Mrs. Seyms at [email protected] if you're interested in helping make this program a suc-cess for our students. Thanks in advance!

STUDENT___________________________ TEACHER:____________________________ Dear Parent/Guardian, On Wednesday March 7th, your student will have the opportunity to meet and listen to the popular author Elise Broach, ann author of dozens of kids books. We're very happy to have her visiting our Petaluma school community! We always love her writing, whether picture book or chapter book. If your child is interested in purchasing a book, have them give this form and the payment to his/her teacher. Checks should be made out to Copperfield's; credit and debit cards can be taken at the event. For this event, Copperfield's is giving students our 10% Book Club discount. After her presentation, Ms. Broach will be happy to autograph your child's copy! Thank you for supporting literacy in our schools!

Once there was a boy who wanted something to take care of.

Something of his very own. He begged his mother for a puppy.

Until she said YES!The boy loved his puppy. He fed

him and played with him and cuddled him. But soon, the dog

wanted something to take care of--something of his very own. So the

dog gets a pet cat; then the cat gets a pet bird; the bird gets a pet worm; the worm gets a pet flea . . . and on and on it goes as utter

chaos ensues.
