This year’s festival takes place from Friday 25 October– Sunday 3 November and we are now six years old!

Juice Festival 2013 showcases 35 projects, all of whichcelebrate the creativity of children and young people andthe festival offers a wide range of innovative ways forchildren, young people and their families to engage in thearts. We’ve dreamt up a wonderful programme for youand you’ll see some of the events have been creativelyinspired by the dreams and aspirations of children andyoung people.

The success of Juice Festival is down to our fantasticpartners. We work in partnership with over 30 regionaland national cultural organisations and venues to makethe festival happen. We are also very proud to be workingin partnership with five local schools that started theirtwo-year journey with us this year.

Our new national partners for 2013 include ManchesterInternational Festival, Battersea Arts Centre, WalkerBooks and award-winning children’s theatre company Oily Cart. Our new regional partnerships for 2013 includeNovember Club, Theatre Royal, Changemakers, Five RingCircus, Digital Voices and TakeOff Festival.

We are so excited to bring you a programme that is jampacked full of exciting events, exhibitions, performancesand workshops. We hope that you’ll join us, and thehundreds of children and young people who have beenworking on Juice, in bringing the 2013 festival to life.

In a Deep Dark Wood is about a little girl whobravely ventures into a dark and mysteriouswood. Encountering tempting trees to climband beguiling creatures, the tale unfolds as thechildren help to create a magical world usingshadow and light to guide the little girl throughher bewitching adventure.

We areworking with lord lawson of Beamish Academy,Thomas Bewick School, Cedars Academy, HiltonPrimary Academy and Walkergate PrimarySchool this year to bring elements of the festivalprogramme into school settings, involve studentsand teachers in projects and to engage morechildren and young people than ever before!
