1. Leadership Requisites 2020 by Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Vice Chairman & MD,JSW –Participants were

told how during the tough times, when no one had faith on Mr. Jindal’s business plans for growth

and expansion, it was sheer grit and passion for achieving success that kept him going. His sharing

of the belief that along with business, it was important to care for families of workers and give them

stable housing, education opportunities convinced all to have a balance between professional and

personal life.

2. India Leadership Lecture Series by Mr. Kewal Handa,MD & CEO,Pfizer India Ltd. - Explainingthe concept of Thought Leadership, Mr. Handa emphasized that in today’s era needs leader who

sacrifice for other great icons to transform into great leaders. Stating various reasons of economic

turmoil, he asked the youngsters to use the downturn to come out on top.  

3. Sleeves Rolled Up………Learnings on Job by Mr. Bhargav Dasgupta, MD & CEO, ICICI

Lombard General Insurance Co. - Learning starts from birth and continues till death. Mr. Dasgupta

shared his thoughts by aiming on the learning in management and the learning in leadership. He

brought into limelight the key lessons in management which comprises of “strategy” but is not

team and empowering them, shall ultimately result in execution, which is the need of the hour. 4. Change Your Thoughts and You Change Your World - Change Management by Mr. R.

Mukundan, MD, Tata Chemicals - Explaining the fundamentals of why change is needed the

discussion was around three hypothesis which are i) Leaders have no choice but to change

constantly. ii) One cannot change if he is not convinced and passionate about it. iii) As leaders, you

need to nurture future leaders.

5. The Challenge of Fast Changing Consumers by Mr. Shipad Nadkarni, Founder Director

Market Gate Consulting- The Session described the process of change in Indian consumer over a

period and how does one address the issue of this fast changing consumer. To design a strategy,

the key question to be asked is “who are we here for”? Marketers should understand consumer

and their cultural context. Comparing the culture of east and west he said that the west 

emphasizes on individualism and not collectivism whereas east believes in that your own action

determines your destiny.

YBF supported an initiative Bhavishya-Yaan of VIDYA

an NGO in the year 2012 Bhavishya-Yaan is a

programme that fast-tracks the education of regional

municipal school students by aiding them with

Spoken English skills, computer skills and life skills.

Total of 720 students that is 120 from each of the

affiliated six municipal schools benefitted from this

programme which aims at creating better

employment avenues and equipping students forhigher education. YBF supported this programme.

Sampling A total of 1004 respondents across more

than 560 companies spread across

locations, gender and socio-economic class

were interviewed.

As part of Young Bombay

broader issues faced by the

young working youth in

Mumbai. YBF Approached

IMRB International to conduct

a study to understand the

gamut of issues facing young

working individuals employed

across small, medium and large

organizations in Mumbai.
