Princess Sumaya University for Technology and
Dearborn–University of MichiganThe
Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) announces that applications are now being accepted
for joint study programs with the University of Michigan-Dearborn (UMD) in the United States. The details
are as follows:
One: Business Management
1. 2 + 2 Joint Program (Degree certificate from both universities) between PSUT and University of Michigan-Dearborn (UMD) – Business Management major:
The 2 + 2 joint program to grant a Bachelor's degree from both universities in the field of Business
Management consists of:
The academic degree:
The student studies two years at PSUT, and two years (may be extended to a third year) at UMD and is
eligible for two Bachelor's degrees in Business Management, a degree from each university. The student
will also have the opportunity to complete a Master’s in one additional academic year.
Stages of the 2 + 2 Program:
The 2 + 2 program consists of the following two stages:
Stage 1: The student studies the first two years (first and second year) at PSUT in accordance with the
University’s rules and regulations.
Stage 2: The student goes on to study the last two years (third and fourth year) at UMD according to their
rules and regulations. This period may be extended for a third year depending on the student’s academic
status. The course of study leads to the student obtaining two Bachelor's degrees (one from PSUT and one
from UMD).
Note: Obtaining the above-mentioned degrees requires the completion of the study plan and meeting the
specified conditions.
Requirements for obtaining the degrees: In order to qualify for a Bachelor's degree in Business
Management from both universities, the student must:
1. Complete the program requirements during the first two years by studying (70) credit hours at PSUT
according to the attached study plan.
2. Complete the program requirements during the following two years at UMD (extendable for a third
year according to the student’s academic status). These requirements are (62) credit hours, according to
the plan attached herewith.

Admission requirements:
1. The student is accepted to study the Business Management major at PSUT upon meeting the
University’s admission requirements. He/she studies the first and second years at PSUT, completing 70
credit hours. The minimum acceptable cumulative GPA in these courses is 70%.
2. Upon completing the conditions stipulated in clause (1) for admission to UMD, the student submits
his/her application. The conditions include obtaining an English language proficiency certificate from one
of the following tests:
Internet Based TOEFL 80
IELTS 6.5
MELAB 76
3. Meeting the minimum UMD admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance, as the
application will be competing with other submitted applications.
4. The student is accepted if he/she is selected for the Pre-Business program.
5. In order to enroll in the Bachelor of Business Management program at UMD, the student must:
• Complete the requirements of the Bachelor of Business Management program, specified in the
appendix.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8 in at least four high-level courses taught at UMD including the
following two courses:
Introduction to Operation Management (OM300) Managerial Economics (BE401)
Pass the requisite course in Writing (COMP 105).
6. After fulfilling the conditions stipulated in clause (5), the student is accepted to the Bachelor of
Business Administration program at UMD.
7. Upon completion of the required number of credit hours at UMD, specified in the appendix, the
student is granted a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from PSUT, after requesting a
transcript from UMD and submitting it to PSUT’s Deanship of Admissions and Registration. He/she also
receives a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (BBA) from UMD, thus obtaining two degrees
from two universities.
Tuition fees:
1. The student shall pay the tuition fees at PSUT for the first two years in which he/she studies there.
2. The same tuition fees that are paid by American students from outside the State of Michigan apply to
PSUT students, and are payable to UMD.
3. PSUT shall charge the student an annual fee of 750 JOD (seven hundred and fifty dinars) for each year
spent by the student at UMD in lieu of admission and registration services, follow-up and course
equivalency procedures.

4. The student shall bear all other expenses such as accommodation, travel, visa and health insurance.
Scholarships:
PSUT students admitted to UMD will receive a scholarship on the condition that they complete at least (12)
credit hours in their first semester at UMD with a minimum GPA of (3.0). In this case, they will receive a
partial scholarship in subsequent semesters that will continue until graduation, provided that the student
maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of (3.0).
Continuing Graduate Studies:
UMD encourages students studying in the 2 + 2 program to continue their postgraduate studies in their chosen disciplines at the university providing they meet the admission requirements.
Withdrawal from study at UMD:
1. A student who wishes to withdraw from his/her studies at UMD for any reason may return to PSUT to
complete his/her studies. The courses he/she studied at UMD will be accredited to the study plan at PSUT.
2. If the student commits any behavior that violates UMD rules and regulations, he/she will be subject to the
penalty of removal from the program. PSUT will assess the student’s status to reach decision whether or not
he/she should be permitted to continue studying at PSUT.
Regulations and Laws:
Students studying at UMD are obliged to abide by Michigan State Residency Laws and UMD rules and
regulations. Students are held fully responsible according to the law.
Entry visa to the USA:
PSUT bears no responsibility for guaranteeing the student a visa to the United States. Visa requirements are
as follows:
An acceptance letter from University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Get an I-20, the form for international students, in order to obtain an F-1 visa.
Follow the instructions to obtain a visa.
Health insurance:
The student may pay for health insurance either through UMD, or through UMD-accredited insurance
companies.

1. Students who meet the requirements for admission to these programs are enrolled in the First
Semester at UMD (Fall Semester).
2. Students who meet the requirements should submit their application to PSUT’s Deanship of
Admissions and Registration no later than April 20, accompanied by the required documents such as
transcripts and English proficiency test results. Students who complete these requirements in the Second
Semester may apply and attach a list of the courses they are studying in that semester together with the
other required documents.
3. Complete the forms required for admission to UMD, obtained through the Deanship of Admissions
and Registration.
4. The partial scholarship received by students who meet the conditions shall be equivalent to
approximately 36% of the credit hour fees.
Students wishing to apply for this program are subject to the Resolution taken by the Deans Council at PSUT,
which stipulates the following:
The student who wishes to join a program run jointly with any of the partnering American universities will
be charged a sum of JD 1000 upon application. This sum will be used as follows:
In case of the student being accepted, the entire sum shall be deducted from the amount all semester
registration fees, according to the prevailing rules and regulations at the time. The remainder, if any,
shall be accredited to the student's account.
The full amount will be returned to the student in case he/she is not accepted.
500 JOD will be deducted if the student is accepted to the program but fails to enroll for any reason.

Two: 3 (PSUT) + 2 (UMD) Joint Program in School of Business majors
Academic degrees:
The student studies three years in the Bachelor of Business Administration program at PSUT, and two years
(may be extended for a third year) at UMD according to a specific plan and conditions that qualify him/her
to obtain a Bachelor's degree in the specialization from PSUT. He/she is then eligible to receive a Bachelor's
degree in the chosen discipline from PSUT as well as a graduate degree from UMD in one of the following:
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Master of Science in Accounting (MS-A)
Master of Science in Finance (MS-F)
Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MS-SCM)
Master of Science in Business Analysis (MS-BA)
Master of Science in Information Systems (MS-IS)
In this way, the student cuts one year from the period of study required for the Master's degree.
Stages of the 3 + 2 Program:
The 3 + 2 program consists of the following three stages:
Stage 1: The student studies the first three years of the undergraduate program at PSUT in accordance with
the University’s rules and regulations.
Stage 2: The student goes on to study the fourth year of the undergraduate program at UMD according to
their rules and regulations. The course of study leads to the student obtaining a Bachelor's degree from
PSUT. The fourth year may include some Master's degree courses.
Stage 3: The student studies the fifth year at UMD in the Master’s program, according to its rules and
regulations, leading to the student obtaining a Master's degree from UMD. Thus, the student reduces one
year from the period of study required for the Master's degree.
Note: Obtaining the above-mentioned degrees requires the completion of the study plan and meeting the
specified conditions.
Requirements for obtaining the degrees:
In order to qualify for a Bachelor's degree from PSUT and a Master’s from UMD, the student must:
1. Meet the program requirements during the first three years of study at PSUT by successfully completing
a minimum of 105 credit hours.
2. Completion of the PSUT undergraduate degree requirements, which involves studying the remaining
courses in the PSUT study plan during the fourth year at UMD. These courses will be accredited by PSUT
before the student travels to the USA, at which point the Bachelor’s degree in the chosen discipline will be
granted by PSUT.
3. Completion of the requirements for obtaining the Master's degree at UMD during the fifth academic year
(may be extended for a sixth year).

Entry requirements:
Stage one: The student studies the first three years of the undergraduate program at PSUT:
The student must first be accepted to the Business Management program at PSUT after meeting the acceptance requirements.
Stage two: The student goes on to study the fourth year of the undergraduate program in the major at UMD after meeting the following conditions:
1. Completing all required courses during the first three years spent at PSUT, by studying a minimum of (105)
credit hours and achieving a minimum cumulative average of 70%.
2. Achieving the English language proficiency requirements required for admission to the UMD Master’s
program as laid forth in the subsequent paragraphs (Stage three).
3. PSUT submits the applications to UMD on behalf of the students who have fulfilled the conditions to move
on to stage two at UMD.
4. Meeting the minimum UMD admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance, as the application
will be competing with other submitted applications.
Stage three: Studying the Master’s program at UMD:
1. The student must first obtain the undergraduate degree from PSUT.
2. The student should have a minimum cumulative GPA of (3.0) for the courses studied in the fourth year at
UMD, which should represent at least 12 credit hours.
3. Obtain an English proficiency certificate based on the following scores in one of the following exams:
Internet based TOEFL 84
IELTS 6.5
MELAB 80
4. A minimum score of 550 in the GMAT or an equivalent score in the GRE (Aptitude Exam).
5. The application showing that the above conditions have been met should be submitted for evaluation by
UMD, according to that university’s acceptance conditions and criteria.
6. Meeting the minimum UMD admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance, as the application
will be competing with other submitted applications.

Three : Computing majors
Joint Program 3 (PSUT) + 2 (UMD) (degree certificates from both universities) between Princess Sumaya
University for Technology (PSUT) and University of Michigan-Dearborn UMD)) in Computing majors
The 3 + 2 joint program to grant a Bachelor's degree from both universities in Computing majors consists of:
The academic degree: The student studies three years at PSUT, and two years (may be extended to a third
year) at UMD. Upon completion of the study plan and meeting the set conditions, the student is eligible
for a Bachelor's degree in a Computing major from PSUT, and a Master’s degree in a Computing major
from UMD.
Stages of the 3 + 2 Program:
The 3 + 2 program consists of the following three stages:
Stage one: The student studies the first three years of the undergraduate program at PSUT, according to the rules and regulations of the University.

Four: Engineering majors
Joint Program 4 (PSUT) + 2 (UMD) (degree certificates from both universities) between Princess Sumaya
University for Technology (PSUT) and University of Michigan-Dearborn UMD)) in Engineering disciplines
The 4 + 2 joint program to grant a Bachelor's degree from both universities in Engineering disciplines consists
of:
The academic degrees: The student studies four years at PSUT, and two years (may be extended to a third
year) at UMD. Upon completion of the study plan and meeting the set conditions, the student is eligible
for a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering major from PSUT, and a Master’s degree in an Engineering major
from UMD.
Stages of the 4 + 2 Program:
The 4 + 2 program consists of the following three stages:
Stage one: The student studies the first four years of the undergraduate program at PSUT, according to the rules and regulations of the University.
Stage two: The student goes on to study the fifth year of the undergraduate program at UMD according to the rules and regulations of that university. The student is then eligible to receive the Bachelor’s degree from PSUT.
Stage three: The student goes on to study the sixth year at UMD in accordance with its rules and regulations,
leading to the student obtaining a Master's degree from UMD. Thus, the student reduces one year from the
period of study required for the Master's degree.
Note: Obtaining the above-mentioned degrees requires the fulfillment of the study plan and meeting the
specified conditions.
Requirements for obtaining the degrees:
In order to be eligible for a Bachelor's degree from PSUT and a Master’s degree from UMD, the student must:
1. Complete the program requirements during the first four years spent at PSUT, by studying at least 132
credit hours.
2. Completion of the PSUT undergraduate degree requirements, which involves studying the remaining
courses in the PSUT study plan during the fifth year at UMD. These courses will be accredited by PSUT before
the student travels to the USA, at which point the Bachelor’s degree in the chosen discipline will be granted
by PSUT.
3. Completion of the requirements for obtaining the Master's degree at UMD during the sixth academic year
(may be extended for a seventh year dependent upon the student’s academic status).
Entry requirements:
Stage one: Study of the first four years of the Bachelor’s degree at PSUT:
The student must first be accepted to study an Engineering discipline at PSUT after meeting the University
entry requirements.

Stage two: The student studies the fifth year of the undergraduate program at UMD.
1. Complete all required courses during the first three years spent at PSUT, by studying a minimum of
(132) credit hours and achieving a minimum cumulative average of 80%.
2. Achieve the English language proficiency requirements needed for admission to the UMD Master’s
program, as put forth in the subsequent paragraphs (Stage three).
3. PSUT submits the applications to UMD on behalf of the students who have fulfilled the conditions to
move on to stage two at UMD.
4. Meeting the minimum UMD admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance, as the
application will be competing with other submitted applications.
Stage three: Studying the Master’s program at UMD:
1. The student must first obtain the undergraduate degree from PSUT.
2. The student’s acceptance to the Master’s program depends upon his/her results from the fifth
year (first year of study at UMD).
3. Obtain an English proficiency certificate based on the following scores in one of the following
exams:
Internet based TOEFL 84
IELTS 6.5
MELAB 80
4. The application, showing that the above conditions have been met, should be submitted for
evaluation by UMD, according to that university’s acceptance conditions and criteria.
5. Meeting the minimum UMD admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance, as the
application will be competing with other submitted applications.
Tuition fees:
1. The student shall pay the tuition fees at Princess Sumaya University for Technology for the first four years
in which he/she studies at PSUT.
2. During the course of study at UMD, the student will pay the same tuition fees that are paid by American
students from outside the State of Michigan, and these are payable to UMD.
3. PSUT shall charge the student an annual fee of 750 JOD (seven hundred and fifty dinars) for the fifth year
spent by the student at UMD in lieu of admission and registration services, follow-up and course equivalency
procedures.
4. The student shall bear all other expenses such as accommodation, travel, visa and health insurance.
Scholarships:

PSUT students admitted to UMD will receive a scholarship on the condition that they achieve a minimum
cumulative average of 80% during the period of study at PSUT. In this case, they will receive a partial
scholarship to cover approximately 40% of tuition fees. This scholarship will continue until the student
graduates (both undergraduate and Master’s), provided that the student maintains a minimum cumulative
GPA of (3.0).
Continuing Graduate Studies:
UMD encourages students studying in the 4 + 2 program to continue their postgraduate studies at doctorate level in their chosen disciplines.
Withdrawal from study at UMD:
1. A student who wishes to withdraw from his/her studies at UMD for any reason may return to PSUT to
complete his/her studies. The courses he/she studied at UMD will be accredited to the study plan at PSUT.
2. If the student commits any behavior that violates UMD rules and regulations, he/she will be subject to the
penalty of removal from the program. PSUT will assess the student’s status to reach decision whether or not
he/she should be permitted to continue studying at PSUT.
Regulations and Laws:
Students studying at UMD are obliged to abide by Michigan State Residency Laws and UMD rules and
regulations. Students are held fully responsible according to the law.
Entry visa to the USA:
PSUT bears no responsibility for guaranteeing the student a visa to the United States. Visa requirements are
as follows:
An acceptance letter from University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Get an I-20, the form for international students, in order to obtain an F-1 visa.
Follow the instructions to obtain a visa.
Health insurance:
The student may pay for health insurance either through UMD, or through UMD-accredited insurance
companies.

General information on joint programs run between PSUT and the University of Michigan-Dearborn
1. Students who meet the requirements for admission to these programs are enrolled in the First Semester at UMD (Fall Semester). 2. Students who meet the requirements should submit their application to PSUT’s Deanship of Admissions and Registration no later than April 20, accompanied by the required documents such as transcripts and English proficiency test results. Students who complete these requirements in the Second Semester may apply and attach a list of the courses they are studying in that semester together with the other required documents. 3. Complete the forms required for admission to UMD, obtained through the Deanship of Admissions and Registration. 4. The partial scholarship received by students who meet the conditions shall be equivalent to approximately 40% of the credit hour fees. 5. Students wishing to apply for this program are subject to the Resolution taken by the Deans Council at PSUT, which stipulates the following: The student who wishes to join a program run jointly with any of the partnering American universities will be charged a sum of JD 1000 upon application. This sum will be used as follows: 6. In case of the student being accepted, the entire sum shall be deducted from the amount all semester registration fees, according to the prevailing rules and regulations at the time. The remainder, if any, shall be accredited to the student's account. 7. The full amount will be returned to the student in case he/she is not accepted. 8. 500 JOD will be deducted if the student is accepted to the program but fails to enroll for any reason.
