PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS Job Corps is a tuition-free training and education program that connects eligible 16- through 24-year-old men and women with the skills and educational opportunities they need to establish real careers; and

WHEREAS Job Corps has 126 centers across the nation and offers training in 11 high-growth industry sectors; and

WHEREAS Job Corps students are taking action though Youth 2 Youth: Partners 4 Peace (Y2Y) to combat youth violence in the United States; and

WHEREAS Y2Y provides students with the ability to promote peace in their communities by discussing violence and aggression, learning about how their peers are affected by youth violence, empowering one another to make a difference, and suggesting solutions;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, [NAME], MAYOR OF THE CITY OF [CITY], do hereby proclaim [MONTH DATE], 2016, to be YOUTH 2 YOUTH: PARTNERS 4 PEACE DAY IN [CITY] and encourage all residents to recognize the importance of promoting peace in our community.
