“Hope is not utopian and peace is a good that can always be attained.” — Pope Francis
January 26—February 2
Join us in welcoming Leo Sebas-tian Abraham, Issabelle Rhyce Macote, Erick Martinez, Gene-sis Martinez and Welsy Mar-tinez who were recently baptized into the Catholic community.
THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Get your fishing license here
A student can only be as good as the teacher offering the lesson. When Jesus walked the shores of Galilee, local fishermen had the chance to learn the gospel by living it. As we begin Catholic Schools Week, we honor all the fine teachers and administra-tors who sacrifice much to live the gospel with their students. We also salute parents who invest in their children ’s religious education. Character can be shaped along with every lesson a child is taught. Make sure children you love are fishing in the richest waters.
TODAY'S READINGS: Isaiah 8:23—9:3; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 17; Matthew 4:12-23 (67). “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

THEN WHY DON'T WE PRAY?
The highest privilege ever afforded to man is the power of prayer... ...then why don't we pray? The right to talk to the highest potentate in all the uni-verse... ...then why don't we pray? The most powerful force accessible to man is the potential of prayer... ...then why don't we pray? The greatest longing in the heart of God is to talk to His children... ...then why don't we pray? Nothing is impossible to those who pray... ...then why don't we pray? No man ever fainted or faltered who gave himself to pray-er... ...then why don't we pray? Every sin is forgiven, every stain is washed clean, all guilt diminished to the man who prays... ...then why don't we pray? Hell moves farther away, satan flees from the man who prays... ...then why don't we pray? Anointing will come, mountains will be moved, valleys made smooth, rivers made crossable, the inaccessible made accessible, the impossible made possible, dreams come through to the man who prays... ...then why don't we pray? Jesus said that men ought always to pray... ...then why don't we pray? Paul encouraged prayer without ceasing... ...then why don't we pray? The riches of heaven are open to those who pray in His name... ...then why don't we pray? Everyone can pray, the young, the old, the rich, the poor, the strong, the weak, the child, the aged, the sinner, the prisoner, in any nation, in any language, all can pray... ...then why don't we pray?

Final Report from the 2019 Project Advance Campaign
A big THANK YOU to all our Fatima parishioners who contributed to our 2019 Project Advance campaign.

The balance will be retained by our parish to fund the necessary improvements in our church and other various initiatives.
The 2019 Project Advance team composed of Lynn Mag-lanque, Mike Calingo and Eric Inigo would like to thank you for your outstanding generosity.
Amen.

MISSION STATEMENT We, the Faith Community of Our Lady of Fatima, Coquitlam, are called to be welcoming and loving disciples of Jesus Christ, living the joy of the Gospel values like the Blessed Mother, witnessing, humbly serving and supporting the Church, our Parish and neighbours.
Amen.
