The purpose of this Weekly Circular is to inform Councillors of a development application which seeks consent for an Advertising Structure at Chevalier College, 566 Moss Vale Road, Burradoo.. Site Description The subject land is known as Lot 12 DP 748370, being Chevalier College, 566 Moss Vale Road, Burradoo (Attachment 1). It is a developed 42.85ha lot on the eastern side of Moss Vale Road, Burradoo, around 3km south of the Bowral town centre. The land also adjoins the southern side of Charlotte Street and the north-western side of Eridge Park Road. The proposed development site itself is located adjacent to the intersection of Moss Vale Road and Charlotte Street. The land is occupied by the Chevalier College secondary school and associated facilities, including expansive managed grassed areas and clusters of mature native and exotic trees and shrubs. Properties in the vicinity of the proposed development site are predominantly developed for residential accommodation purposes, including dwelling houses to the west (across Moss Vale Road) and seniors housing to the north (across Charlotte Street).

Proposed Development On 21 June 2019, development application 19/1788 was lodged with Council seeking consent to erect two structures, for the purpose of an advertising structure and an ancillary solar energy system. Elevations and site plan of the proposal can be found at Attachment 2. Permissibility The site is zoned R5 Large Lot Residential under the Wingecarribee Local Environmental Plan 2010 and in this zone, development for the purpose of advertising structures is permissible with development consent. Assessment Timeline The application has been notified to adjoining and adjacent landowners with the notification period concluding on 22 July 2019. At the time of drafting, no submissions from the public had been received.


The application shall be determined under delegated authority, unless it is requested by Councillors that the application be determined by full Council.
