    Dear Parents:

Your active involvement in Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTCs) this

past week was greatly appreciated. As the school year continues, we

hope the connections made during the PTCs continue and strengthen

    communication between home and school.

A gentle reminder Regular daily attendance and arriving to school

on time is necessary for all students to fully benefit from the

educational opportunities in our Middle School. Absences can be

disruptive to the educational process and to a students

achievement. If your child is going to be absent from school and/or

for an extended amount of time, please notify the MS Office at 840-

8550. For additional information on the Middle School Attendance

Guidelines, please see page 19 in the Handbook of your childs

    Student Planner.

The October holiday starts on Monday, October 24 and classes

resume on Wednesday, November 2. After the past twelve weeks the

students and teachers have earned a well deserved break. Enjoy the

    holiday!

    Vaccination

The Clinic is offering the second session of vaccination on Wednesday November 2 nd .

This month in partnership with GSK we are offering Typherix vaccine at a cost of 871.00PHP.

Typherix is a vaccine which helps prevent typhoid fever, an infectiousillness caused by a type of bacteria called Salmo-nella typhi . This vaccine can be given to both adults and children aged 2 years and over. Typherix contains a small partof the bacterium which causes typhoid fever. This is not infectious and cannot make you ill. When you are given the vac-cine it will trigger the bodys immune system to prepare itself to protect against typhoid fever in the future. Typherixwill only prevent disease caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi and not against salmonella bacteria that can causefood poisoning or gastroenteritis.Since the bacterium is present in the bowel movement (motion), the infection can oc-cur in any country, but it more commonly occurs in places or countries with poor personal or public hygiene.

This vaccine is required every 3 years.

To register for the vaccine please visit the Clinic and see Nurse Jowell, or email the [email protected] for more de-tails.
