Issue 15 – Week 3 - Term 4 Thursday 23 October 2015
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to Term 4, so far it has been a busy term and the end of the year will be upon us before we know it!
Our fantastic dance group and school choir have once again made us proud with their performances at Upper Blue Mountains Events. Thank you to Mrs Way, Miss Coady and Mrs Clark for their hard work in preparing our students for these performances.
We are looking forward to our fundraising Walkathon in Week 6. Sponsorship and other information will be coming out early next week.
Our first Kindergarten orientation morning is next week, Wednesday 28 October 9.30 – 10.55am. We look forward to meeting our new Kindergarten students for 2016.
Thanks to all students, parents and teachers who have donated baked goods and volunteered their time to support the Lawson Learners Stall at the Magpie Markets. The stalls so far have been very successful and we look forward to using the money raised to resource our support classes. Thanks also to our tireless P&C and Magpie Markets workers who have provided the funds for so many of our school resources and events.
We have been pleased to take up an offer from NSW Hockey to enable our students to participate in free hockey coaching sessions at school. The students are enjoying the sessions and learning lots of great skills.
On Wednesday Jo Clancy from the Wagana Aboriginal Dancers taught all students a dance routine to be used as part of our School Totem Project. The students were quick to pick up the steps of our very own ‘Water Dragon Dance’.
Thank you to all students who are remembering our school expectations - to be Safe, Respectful and Responsible learners. As the end of the school year approaches we thank parents and carers for supporting us in this important aspect of school life.
Students who need to bring mobile phones to school are required to sign them into the office before the school bell. Any other devices that are brought to school also must be signed in, however we would not expect items like iPads, iPods, radios, electronic games to be brought to school.
Just a reminder that school finishes at 2.45pm. For reasons of student safety and supervision, when collecting your children we ask that you please leave the school grounds promptly, an empty playground makes it easier for staff to find children who need to be located urgently. Please remind your children of their collection point of an afternoon, that they are not running around the playground and are to go to the office if their parents/carers have not arrived shortly after the bell. If required there is an after school care facility on the grounds of our school.
We are looking forward to a productive term.
Warm regards
Sue Bate for Corinna Robertson Acting Principal

uniform shop prices
Our uniform shop is a P&C initiative, run by
volunteers. We aim to provide our school
community with uniform options that are of a
good quality, presentable and affordable, as
well as the convenience of purchasing items at
the school, rather than having to search
elsewhere.
We have been fortunate enough to be able to
keep our prices the same for over seven years. However, due to
recent increases in cost from our suppliers we have had to adjust
our prices accordingly. Some of our products have had a price
rise of between $1 - $5. Other product
prices remain the same. A copy of the new
order form with prices is attached to this
newsletter, and available through the
school office.
Uniform shop is open every Wednesday
8:30am – 9:30am alternatively orders can
be placed at the school office.
