DESCRIPTION

Ending Keynote by Martin White of Intranet Focus on 21 May at Intranätverk 2014 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Martin summarises what he feels were the most important outcomes of the presentations and discussions to provide delegates with an agenda for actions when they return to their desktops. He also comments on topics that he noticed were not covered in the presentations but which he feels are important for intranet managers to take note of.

• In 2000 the Meta Group developed an information management maturity model– Level 1 Aware: The organisation has no common information practices

– Level 2 Reactive: Certain departments do have approaches to managing information assets

– Level 3 Proactive: The organisation has a significant degree of information management maturity, led by IT

– Level 4 Managed : The business takes responsibility for information quality

– Level 5 Optimal: Policy of continual improvement in an enterprise-wide strategy that places information as an asset alongside financial, material and personnel assets
