Internship Video Assignment Purpose *To provide an opportunity for you to demonstrate accomplished teaching and analyze your own practice as related to two components of TESS that you select. Assignment Details *During your internship, you will submit one teaching video as evidence of your accomplished teaching practice related to specific components of Domains 2 and 3 of TESS. *The video should be completed during your two weeks of full responsibility and should be a raw, teaching video without edits. *The video should be at least 15 minutes in length but no more than 30 minutes. (This is not expected to show a full lesson) . You decide the skills and actions from the video that best demonstrate the components of TESS that you have chosen to showcase. * Practice with your video equipment prior to the day of taping the lesson for this assignment. Ensure that both you and your students can be heard clearly. Do not worry about normal classroom interruptions such as the intercom; those are expected in a classroom environment. You would be wise to tape several different lessons and then choose a clip that best demonstrates your chosen TESS domains. * Your video must feature two components chosen from domains 2 and 3. You may feature two components of domain 2, two components of domain 3, or one of each. The TESS domains and components can be found at http://www.arkansased.gov/divisions/human-resources-educator- effectiveness-and-licensure/office-of-educator-effectiveness/ teacher-evaluation-system/tess-facilitation-guides-and- presentations

Internship Video Assignment Purpose *To provide an opportunity for you to demonstrate accomplished teaching and analyze your own practice as related to two components of TESS that you select.

Assignment Details*During your internship, you will submit one teaching video as evidence of your accomplished teaching practice related to specific components of Domains 2 and 3 of TESS.

*The video should be completed during your two weeks of full responsibility and should be a raw, teaching video without edits.

*The video should be at least 15 minutes in length but no more than 30 minutes. (This is not expected to show a full lesson).

The TESS domains and components can be found at http://www.arkansased.gov/divisions/human-resources-educator-effectiveness-and-licensure/office-of-educator-effectiveness/teacher-evaluation-system/tess-facilitation-guides-and-presentations

* The chosen components should be recorded in the title of your video along with your name. Example: Your Name Video Artifact 2b and 3a

* In the video, you must be the lead teacher in charge of whole group instruction.

* Your school should have a media consent form on file for each student. Prior to the video, determine if any students in your class do not have guardian consent and ensure those students do not show in the video. It is your responsibility to ensure these forms exist and which students may or may not be seen in your video.

*Upload your video on your Google Sites portfolio along with your Annotation Document as explained below.

Video Annotation* In addition to the video, you should place on your portfolio a Word document with specific annotations and video time stamps that demonstrate your skill in the chosen domain areas. Be specific about the actions or skills in the video that demonstrate your accomplished teaching as related to that domain.

For example: Timestamp 2:10 – 3:30 – Domain 3a – At this time stamp, I am communicating the expectations for the assignment to students. I used easy to understand written and oral directions that were on the students’ grade level. Note that I asked students questions to ensure understanding prior to moving forward.

* Keep in mind that each component has several elements on which to focus as you are annotating your skills and actions in the video.

3a Communicating with Students● Expectations for learning● Directions and procedures● Explanation of content● Use of oral and written language

* Your annotation document should include numerous in-depth and substantive connections to your 2 chosen domains and the elements within each.

*You should have annotations spread throughout the video rather than all at the beginning or end. There should not be lengthy gaps with no annotations that demonstrate your skill in some element of your chosen domains.
