Supplier communication

• Communicate with suppliers in a polite and courteous manner- Good first impression- Correspondence naturally becomes more informal as relationship is established

• Show appreciation for the work suppliers do – whenever possible- Keep our suppliers happy so they are more likely to want to continue working with us

• Feedback – positive and negative- Gives suppliers the opportunity to improve- Consistency

• We should respond to ALL supplier queries

• Be open, honest and firm with your suppliers, they will respond in kind- Firm, but not rude- Do not raise your voice

Share:•Positive/Negative experiences with suppliers-Not all suppliers will be discussed on a conference call so we should add notes regarding suppliers to the comments field on the translator profile page. -Date and initial entries.

•Additional information about suppliers-Experience -Unavailability– i.e. picking up children from school, interpreting or in-house assignments.-Use of blackberry-Never answers the telephone, but more likely to respond to an email. -Date and initial entries.

• Those that speak about your company and have the most opinions about the company are the people that work there.

• Offer staff the same level of courtesy as clients and suppliers – first step to having a good reputation and maintains a pleasant working atmosphere.

• Face-to-face communication is important – speak to your colleagues directly whenever possible.

• Meetings – important that everyone gets involved.
