with your music magazine cover.

I like NME as an example of the type of

magazine which I would say is most my

taste because I feel that each cover fits

the theme of the artists whom it features.

In this case MIA who through her music

and sense of style expresses herself as

quite rebellious and unique. I am a

personal fan of her music as well as

many other artists that have featured on

the covers of NME magazine.

My second option of path for my future

magazine cover is Q. I have chosen Q as it

also presents chart music which consists of

multiple different genre of music, making

it able to also (like NME) fit to each artists

personal style/image. The colours, fonts

and all other aspects of each Q magazine

cover vary which is why I think it is

popular because this means it is able to

stay fresh and new to change.

For my last option, I have chosen

Billboard magazine. The reason I’ve

chosen this magazine is because I think,

like the others, it is very successful in

expressing each artist through their

covers. Billboard magazine use an

appropriate font colour for their masthead

which is always either black or white

considering the colour scheme of the rest

of the cover, I like this aspect of the

magazine very much as they also use the

chosen colour as the main font colour for

all the text on the cover (cover lines,

subheadings).

I’ve chosen Billboard magazine

for the most effective magazine in

which I would like my magazine

to relate to in many areas which I

think are bright and unique.

Although these three magazines

feature chart music in all genres, I

feel that Billboard features the

most which I can relate and link to

my music taste. All artists on

Billboard magazine covers are

artists whom I listen to, giving me

the chance to relate to the

magazine more.

The main reason I’ve chosen this certain magazine is because for each cover, Billboard have used

different camera shots, editing, fonts, colours and layouts which gives me more options to vary my

cover with and also giving me more a chance to give my potential artist more of a character and

present it through the cover.
