SUMMER READING CLUB PARTY: ROCKIN’ THE 1980sMonday, June 25

10:00am-4:00pm: MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS: Visit the children’s department to sign up for the Summer Reading Club and a learn how to make different instruments. 11:00am-12:00pm: 80s FAMILY DANCE PARTY!: Wear your biggest hair and high tops for this flashback party. Be prepared to dance and play some Double Dare-themed games.2:00-3:00pm: SPLATTER PAINT T-SHIRT: For ages K-3. Create a colorful pattern that will rock t-shirts with Miss Marie. We will supply shirts and paint for this activity.4:00-5:00pm: LANYARD KEYCHAINS: For Tweens. Weave a keychain that was very popular when your parents were your age.5:30-6:30pm: PERLER BEAD CREATIONS: For ages K-6. Join Ms. Roese to create your very own 1980s inspired perler bead figure.

Tuesdays at 5:30pm at the Village Gazebo.These performances are geared for families with children ages 3 to 8, but all are welcome to attend. No registration required.

July 10: ROCK AND ROLL WITH SQUEAKY CLEAN:Sing and dance with this talented band as they play music from various decades.July 17: MAGIC WITH AMORE:Amore, the magician, will bring laughter and many surprises during this show. July 24: ALLEY OOPS FROM PARTYLOONS:Entertainment filled with participation and amazing clown antics will transpire during this performance.July 31: MUSIC WITH KERI WIRTH:This show will pleasantly amuse your family with silly songs and humor.August 7: PUPPETS WITH JANICE BUCKNER:Janice Buckner and her puppets will delight the whole family with her stories and songs. August 14: JESTER JIM:This juggling act, with music and other fancy tricks, will engross your family from the second the show starts. August 21: ROCK N’ ROLL MOTHER GOOSE: We all love Mother Goose, but you haven’t seen anything like this before.August 28: PETTING ZOO: from 4:00 to 6:00pmCome meet the animals from the Suffolk County Petting Zoo.

HOMESCHOOL OUTINGS: Fridays, July 13, 27 and August 10, 24 from 1:00-3:00pm. If you are a homeschool family looking for social activities, this is the program for you!

1980s MOVIE MATINEE: Saturdays, July 14 and 28 from 4:00-6:00pm. Take a break from the warm weather and travel back to the 1980s with two of our favorite movies. On July 14 we will view Oliver and Company and on July 28 we will watch Muppets Take Manhattan.

FAMILY RHYTHM ROOM: Saturday, July 21 from 11:00am-12:00pm. Get ready to drum your way through different rhythms on buckets.

1990s MOVIE MATINEE: Saturdays, August 11 and 18 from 4:00-6:00pm. Flash back to the 1990s and join us for two of our favorite 90s movies. On August 11 we will watch The Pagemaster and on August 18 we will show Ferngully.

Wednesday is Family Night Out! Wednesdays, 7:00pm-8:00pm unless otherwise noted.For families with children ages 5 and older.

July 11: STEVE PETRA’S MUSICAL ZOO Laugh and have fun during this ventriloquist puppet show for the whole family. There will be illu-sions, music and much more.

July 18: ROB SCOTT and the LIBRARIES ROCK PARTY 6:30-7:30pm or 7:30-8:30pm. Please choose one session, seats are limited. Play musically-themed games and make a summer parfait with pudding, fruit, whipped cream and cake! July 25: QUOGUE WILDLIFE NATURE WALKEnjoy the nature that is right in your backyard when we meet at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge for a guided sunset nature walk. We will leave promptly at 6:00 pm for the tour. Please see an Idea Place librarian to register.

August 1: DJ POLKA DOT SHOWRon Albanese will move and groove with you and your family during his hilariously interactive show.

August 8: ROB SCOTT and the PASTRY WARS 6:30-7:30pm or 7:30-8:30pm. Please choose one session, seats are limited. Each family will decorate their own pastry as if it were a five star restau-rant. Rob Scott will vote and select the winner of each session. Good luck!

August 15: QUOGUE WILDLIFE NATURE WALKEnjoy the nature that is right in your backyard when we meet at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge for a guided sunset nature walk. We will leave promptly at 6:00 pm for the tour. Please see an Idea Place librarian to register.

August 22: HOLLYROCK ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS THE FAMILY GAME SHOWThis interactive game show will keep you laughing, smiling and having fun during the brain challenges, physical challenges and more.

WATERMELON CHEESECAKE PIZZA: Friday, August 10 from 5:00-6:00pm. Refreshing watermelon and cheesecake topping with berries are a great treat to create while playing games.

Cross-Country Adventures Take a road trip with us by visiting different states throughout the year. Be sure to look for special state-themed Make It & Take It crafts. You can also pick up a fun fact sheet for each state and check out books to learn more.

TENNESSEE SCAVENGER HUNT: Tuesday, July 3 from 10:00am-7:00pm. Find out what you know about Tennessee and the state mammal, the raccoon.

AUGUST: Michigan

CHERRY MUFFINS: Wednesday, August 22 from 4:00-4:45pm Michigan grows one of the largest crops of sour cherries. We will turn these cherries into something sweet.

to snuggle and cuddle

If kindness was a person,it would be a friend to share with

laugh with, and play with

If kindness was a flowerIt would be a sunflower,

standing tall to make the days bright

If kindness was the world,then we would be at peace
