This color scheme is based on the colorsA2LP have chosen as their company’s officialcolors (purple and green). These colorsrepresent life and fun since A2LP works withchildren. This is a color palette seen often innature such as in flower colors.

I chose Quicksand Bold as my typeface of choice

because it is rounded but still very readable. This

typeface seems more appropriate for children, which is one of A2LP’s target populations. This type-

face is sans-serif so that contributes to the younger,

less serious aesthetics. I think this font will attract

parents of children, children, and volunteers for

A2LP. I also enjoy how this font has many varieties.

Free Space Guide

Design Process: Firstly, I looked at many competitor logos and readmore about A2LP. I wanted to get a feel for the company and what they

do, and get a sense of what other logos in this industry look like. Then, I

sketched many ideas that I felt could become a part of the finalized

logo. After sketching, I turned my favorite three sketches into vector

drawings in Illustrator. From there, I played around with image and

name placement, color schemes, and positioning. I iterated on my origi-

nal ideas for this assignment and ended up changing the colors and

typeface. I also added another element to the original logo idea.

Choice for Logo: This is my final design. The concept revolves around a

tutor and tutee since that is the basis of the company. I used a more

abstract design to represent the two people so that it could represent

another meaning: flowers. The flower shape represents spring-time,

growth, happiness, and nature. I wanted multiple interpretations for my

logo. As the child gets tutored, he or she is able to grow with more

knowledge and the connection that is made with the volunteer. The

connection is also represented through the joining of the two “hands”

or “petals”. This company is founded on the child and volunteer.
