Tuesday Beading Club will be on hiatus for the month of March Painting with Arbey will be on hiatus for several weeks after the Friday, 3/18 class Tuesdays, 11:30 am - Introducing Hands-On Relaxation with Tamar. This new group uses a gentle hands-on approach to healing the energy in the body. Please see her special invitation giving more details in Fulton’s Reception area. Wednesdays, 2:30 pm - Introducing Dance Parade! You are invited to join the NYC Dance Parade. A new dance class will be held every Wednesday starting March 16. Participants will be able to join the 10th Annual Dance Parade and Festival held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 and receive free t-shirts! Fridays, 9:30 am - Introducing the Board Game Club! In the mood for backgammon, chess or another board game? Join us in the Game Room each week, test your skill and enjoy! Fridays, 1:15 pm - Introducing “Win-A-Week!” This new raffle program will be held in Fulton Auditorium weekly. One Adult Services participant will win free lunches for a whole week but you’ll have to be present to win!

Andrea Cannalunga has been a Social Work Intern at the NORC since September 2015. Andrea speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. She received her bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College and is currently working on obtaining her

Masters degree in Social Work with a specialization in Gerontological Social Work. Andrea enjoys read-ing, especially mystery or thriller novels and going to the movies.

NORC HEALTH INDICATORS SURVEY RAFFLE: WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are currently collecting health surveys that will allow us to see how we can better serve you. If you complete a survey, you will be entered into the NORC raffle. There will be three chances to win. The winners will be announced at an event in April (Please note that the raffle announcement date has switched from March to April). Please speak to a NORC staff member if you have not completed a health survey. Remember, you can only win if you enter!

Saturday Game Night: This is the community event that you should not miss! Please join us on Saturday, February March 5th, 4pm-10pm for a night of Bingo, Pokeno, Dominoes and much more. Please bring a dish to share! Game Night is held the 1st Saturday monthly on the 1st floor of Elliott Center in the Gural Room.

Staff Changes at NORC: As of March 1st, Social Worker Giselle Regalado will be leaving the NORC for a new employment opportunity. Giselle has led the Cultura Hispana group on Mon-

days and provided caring case management and assistance services to NORC participants. She has been a val-ued member of the NORC team and we wish her all the best in her next career endeavor. Thank you Giselle for your work and service to the NORC family and to Hudson Guild.

Additional Nursing Hours: Join us in welcoming Lilly Leong, our new NORC Services Nurse. Lilly is flu-ent in both Cantonese and English. She will be with the NORC every Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm. Please note that Maria, our bilingual Spanish/English nurse, is now here Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm. Movement Speaks has begun! Join Naomi Goldberg Haas in this intergenerational dance movement class. You’ll have fun as you mix dance styles and creative movements. No experience required! Thursdays, 3:30 pm through April 7th.

NYS HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE NOW AVAILABLE Do you have questions or concerns about New York State’s health insurance exchange programs? Are you not sure which plan is the right one for your needs? We recently welcomed Lilia Bayley to our Social Services team. Lilia has been extensively trained by the Department for the Aging's Office of Health Insurance Services on the government sponsored health insurance programs and can help you understand the NYS health plan marketplace, navigate your way through it and provide enrollment assistance. She is available at Fulton Center Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Drop by during her office hours or make an appointment by calling 347-396-4705.

Julia Martin was born in Poughkeepsie, NY. She went to Taft High School, Brooklyn College, SUNY Empire State for independent study and ultimately completed her Social Work degree at Fordham University. Fordham was a very accessible school for Julia as they made it possible for her to go to school while working and raising three children. Julia has held a variety of jobs, including being a tenant organizer for an anti-poverty program in the 1960s. Advocating for others was not new to her as her parents taught her how to advocate from a young age. She also ran a Meals on Wheels program which was a very nice experience for her. Julia enjoys bicycling, skiing and spends a lot of time with different walking groups. She has three daugh-ters that she is very proud of and that have successful careers, as well as seven grandchildren. Julia has been a member of Hudson Guild for seven years and is President of the Advisory Council. She enjoys attending the movies (she likes that they have subtitles), the exercise classes and participating in neighborhood politics.
