The Road to Becoming a MLB General Manager

Networking

• Network and make connections through my professional baseball career. I will continue dialogue with management about my interests in pursing a career in the front office after my playing days are over.

School Work• I will use the

Independent Study work that I conducted on MLB team building roster construction for successful teams in the playoffs as proof that I understand the analytic side of the business.

Chattanooga Lookouts

• This offseason I will work for the local Double A affiliate for the Minnesota Twins. I will be an intern gaining experience of how a minor league team functions. I will be working in many areas (ticketing, sales, promotions, and general manager specific jobs).

Intern While Playing Professional Ball

• I will work as an intern during the fall and early winter for the MLB I am playing for. I will work in whatever capacity I am needed. In doing this they will know my commitment to working in the industry once my playing days are over.

GM Special Assistant

• After my playing career is over I will become a GM Special Assistant. My work capacity will be to offer advice on certain players in minor/ major leagues, payroll concerns, scouting, and development.
